Read Aloud: Text is a read aloud to the student by a trained and qualified reader. All or portions of the content may be read aloud. / Text to speech: Text is read aloud to the student via embedded text-to-speech technology. / Speech to text: Voice recognition allows students to use their voices as input devices to dictate responses or give commands. Students may use their own devices.
Print-on-demand: Paper copies of passages/stimuli and/or items are printed for students. / Permissive mode: Should be enabled for students who need accessibility software in order to interact with the test. When disabled, the only application that can be open on the computer is the secure browser. / Test Shell: Default is Standard interface. Streamline interface presents the test in an alternate, simplified format in which the test items are displayed below the stimuli. Note: streamline interface not is tablet compatible.
Print size: Default is 14pt. Selected print size becomes default for all items. / Magnification: The size of selected area of the screen may be adjusted by the student with an assistive technology device.
Alternate response options: external devices that must be plugged in and compatible with the assessment delivery platform. / Scribe: Students dictate responses to a trained individual who records their responses verbatim.
Colored overlays: Student may use a color transparency over a printed assessment. / Color contrast: (Embedded) Default is black text on a white background. 4 options available. / Color contrast: (Non-embedded) Test content of online items may be printed with different colors.
Language: Default is English. Options include Braille. / Masking: Students can mask content, navigation buttons, or menus that may be distracting or unnecessary. / Turn Off Universal Tools: For students who may be easily distracted or overwhelmed by some of the universal tools.
Multiplication table: A paper-based single-digit (1 to 9 and parentheses multiplication table). / Calculator: Students unable to use the embedded calculator will be able to use one they typically use, such as a braille calculator or talking calculator.
