K-4 Parade: 2:00 p.m.

Information for K-4 Classes:

·  The parade will begin at 2:00 p.m.

·  Students do not have to wear uniforms on Mardi Gras/Fasching, but are encouraged to wear traditional MardiGras colors of purple, green and gold.

·  Students can wear costumes in the parade. Costumes should be brought to school and put on in the afternoon. They may not be worn all day.

Information about the Parade Route:

The K-4 Classes will proceed in two lines: Clockwise (C) Line and CounterClockwise (CC) Line. Please have students ready to join their lines at 2:00.

C Line:

Starting with the French Grade 3 classes, the PURPLE hall line will proceed to the main hall and turn LEFT. As the line passes each classroom, that class will join the line. The C line will go down the purple and green halls, turn in front of the gym, go up the blue and red halls, and turn in front of the cafeteria/auditorium, then turning back into the purple hall.

CC Line:

Starting with the French and German Kindergarten classes, the RED hall classes will proceed to the main hall and turn RIGHT. As the line passes each class, that class will join the line. The CC line will move down the red and blue halls, turn in front of the gym, along green and purple halls, pass in front of the cafeteria, and turn back into the red hall for a second “loop.”

Grade 4 will join the C Line when it passes the GREEN hall.

Notes:

·  The lines should slowly pass each other, allowing the children to see each other’s costumes, masks etc.

·  Each class will make 2 full circuits of the inner hallways. As the class reaches its own room the second time around, it will leave the line and return to class.

·  Each class may decide to celebrate in their own room after the parade with snacks, or not – this is a teacher decision.

·  Middle school classes and parents are welcome to be spectators near the gym or cafeteria, or lined up along the hallways walls. Best “photo ops” will be in the open areas near the gym or cafeteria!

Note for all teachers:

Fasching / Mardi Gras will be a “regular” day for AM special area classes, since all celebrations are in the afternoon. All PM special area classes after 1 PM are cancelled.
