Year 6 Farewell

It is nearly time to say goodbye to our Year 6. For their farewell, Year 6 and Mrs Calderan are going to Taronga Zoo.

REPORTS ARE COMING HOME

You can expect your child’s report to go home on Friday 6th December 2013. If you need to see the teacher, please make an appointment. It is a busy time of the year.

FROM THE PRINCIPAL’S DESK

Can you believe another year is already over – 18 days of school left - and we are planning for 2014??As always it has been a very busy year.

In the next few days our Year 6 are having their Farewell Party at Taronga Zoo and their high school orientation.Year 5/6 have decided to join with other schools in Fairfield the annual Christmas Trolley Drive to help the needier people in Fairfield by providing food for the Uniting Church Diner. Thank you if you have already sent in some cans or packets of food. It is a worthy cause!

The “End of the Year Reports” are going home to parents – Friday 6thDecember 2013. The teachers have finished their assessment and have completed the reports ready for printing.

The P&C are busy organising their last raffle for Christmas to be drawn on Presentation Day.

We hope to see you all on Presentation Day – 10th December 2013 at 9:00am - where we celebrate our students’ achievements. It is always a great morning. There will be a morning tea to say thank you to the parents for all their effort, time and help.

On Wednesday 19th December we will say farewell and good luck to our Year 6 students in our traditional “Passing Out” ceremony at 2:30pm. We will also say goodbye to some of our parents. We hope you can join our circle of friends.

The next P&C meeting will be held on in February 2014 in the staffroom. Hope to see you there.

CANBERRA EXCURSION

Year 4 to 6 students went to Canberra this morning. It was still dark when they had to get to school. Everyone was very excited to go. We hope they have a great day and learn a lot about government, elections and the War Memorial.

SCHOOL UNIFORMS

If you need a new uniform please see the office staff. We like to avoid delays in ordering.

It is summer uniform although we have jackets for colder days.

DAVID IS BACK!

David from Woodville Community Services is back to coach some cricket this term. Take the opportunity to learn some skills. Every Thursday from 3:00pm until 4:30pm. Please pick up your children ON TIME as David has to go to another coaching session.

The P&C are organising their last big event for the year – our Christmas Raffle. The notes are going home.

Invitation to Presentation Day 2013 to celebrate the achievements of our students.

The Director of Public School (Fairfield Network) will be attending and we will launch Yennora PS first published book.

It starts at 9:00am and will hopefully finish at 11:00 am with a morning tea. All families are welcome to attend.
