School Calendars 2018

Looking for a great gift for someone for the New Year?! Our School Calendars are currently for sale in the school office @ €10 each. Limited stock left. Many thanks to the PTA for putting the whole Calendar project together! They look fantastic!

Saint Brigid Crosses

As you are aware Saint Brigid crosses form a big part of our fundraising in the school year. If you wish to purchase or sell some of our Saint Brigid Crosses in your workplace to raise funds for our school please contact the school office. €3 per cross or €5 for two

Full School Uniform Spring Clean!

Beginning February 1st School uniform inspections will begin again. All pupils must wear the full and proper school uniform each and every day, not to do so is a breach of Scoil Bhríde’s Code of Behaviour and will therefore be dealt with as a disciplinary matter. Thank you to all families who comply everyday with the schools uniform policy helping therefore to give their child a sense of belonging to our school community, a sense of pride and a great grounding for what lies ahead in secondary school and in work life.

Author Visit to School!

On Wednesday 31st January author Olive Mooney will be visiting the school @ 2.10pm to read to the pupils of 1st to 6th class excerpts from her two children’s novels “The book of Ornis” and “The Curse of Halbizia”. Signed copies of her books will be on sale during the visit for €10 for those pupils interested. Please see the attached note.

Homework Club

Please be advised that the Homework Club is a private enterprise run by individuals for parents. It is a private contract for a service between parents and the service provider. Issues of the work carried out or behaviour in the Club are a private matter between parents and those providing the service. The School or School Principal does not run the Club. Any issues regarding the Homework Club should be forwarded to your service provider.

  • Junior Infants HSE immunization – Wednesday February 7th 2018.
  • Saint Brigid’s Day Mass – February 1st @ 10am Nurney Church
  • School closes early at 2pm on Tuesday February 27thfor all pupils to accommodate Staff meetings. Bus told.
  • Communion for 2nd class Scoil Bhríde will be April 21st 2018 @ 11am Nurney Church. This date has been given to us by the Parish.
  • 6th class Confirmation – May 17th 2018

The following uniform must be worn by all pupils except on PE days:

The Uniform offers a range of choice while trying to minimise cost.

  1. School Wine Jumper (with school crest): available from local suppliers
  2. School Tie: available from the school
  3. Grey shirt: Parents can choose where to purchase
  4. Grey trousers / skirt / pinafore: Parents can choose where to purchase.
  5. Appropriate footwear (e.g. black shoes etc.): Parents can choose where to purchase.

On Physical Education (PE)days the following tracksuit is to be worn by all pupils:

  1. Plain Navy tracksuit bottom (no stripes or markings):Parents can choose where to purchase.
  2. Royalblue hoodie(with gold school crest):available from local suppliers
  3. White polo shirt:Parents can choose where to purchase.

  1. Appropriate sports footwear: Velcrofastening if possible for younger children). Parents can choose where to purchase.

For P.E. runners must be worn. Children come dressed in P.E. Gear and remain in such on the day they have physical Education.

PLEASE NOTE!! – Pupils wear tracksuit on their P.E. days ONLY.
