  • Help brokering relationships to increase transportation opportunities. Housing unit is 3 miles from public transportation.

  4. April 11th Historical Society and Issaquah Food and Clothing Bank presentation about historical and present day homelessness. Cori Walters
  5. May 6th Film Hunger in America at Issaquah HS auditorium hosted by Imagine Housing and IFCB. Please let know if you would like to table at the event. Cori Walters
  6. Bill 528 passed the in the house please call your senator and ask them to pass it. This bill limits City ordinance impact on how often churches can host encampments. Jan Bennett
  7. Tent City 4 is at High Point Exit and needs help getting meals. (E-mail to get on the meal schedule.) Elizabeth Maupin
  8. Youth Mental Health Conference was a big success. – Barbara DeMichelle

Dave Waggoner – Senior Center/VFW – Flew WW2 Vets back to WA DC and VWF will contribute 5 boxes to the Lunch for a Break Program. Did a flag ceremony at the YWCA.

Madeline Fish – Thanked Sammamish Rotary and the Network for a super successful bedding drive.

Eileen – Catholic Community Services – Adria is doing great, had baby boy 3 weeks ago. Coordinates a Kinship Program for grandparents taking care of their grandchildren.

Rhonda -Hopelink, Employment Specialist, ESL Classes, GED Programs, and Emergency Assistance

CJ Kahler – Sammamish Rotary – Working with Hopelink to establish an ESL Program in Issaquah and is looking for space.

Lisa Kennedy – Sammamish Rotary – Working with YMCA in Sammamish to provide scholarships for Summer Camp Programs.

Richard Walerius NEW – Tent City Resident, shared that a Tokyo camera crew recently filmed Tent City to gather information for Japan, as homelessness is a big problem in Tokyo.

Anna Lou NEW– Tent City Resident – Feels like encampments are a good way to go vs. indoor shelters.

Linda Benson – Nourishing Network Central- Save the date Monday, June 1st for our next Nourishing Network Summit. The Nourishing Network Central website has been launched. Bellevue Nourishing Network is moving their meetings onto Bellevue Community College Campus to increase student engagement.

Allen Bolen – Camp Unity Resident – Better San Francisco did a tour of Camp Unity Encampments and is looking at replicating the model. Camp Unit has a FaceBook Page, please like and share.

Elizabeth Maupin – Interfaith Coalition – Working on getting a board and more help to her work… looking for board members. Still working and advocating for a drop in center. (SEE Attachments for additional announcements)

Barbara DeMichelle – Healthy Youth Initiative – April 1st is the 3rd Annual youth Video Awards at Cinnabar and April 22 a conversation about drug abuse in New Castle City Hall and May 28 Action Forum for Youth.

Rebecca Rayner – Issaquah Food and Clothing Bank – Please visit our website to register to be a Lunch for the Break donor We still need donors and we help spreading the word to IVE and Clark Elementary students.

Cori Walters - IFCB – We hired John Rittenhouse to be our new Food and Clothing Bank Manager, he starts next Tuesday.

Suzie Kuflik – New job as the YWCA Youth Advocate

Jane Bennett – Faith United Methodist Church

Mary Jo DeBeck – Hired Martha S. as the new Human Service and Social Sustainability Coordinator. Also announced that Falaah is back in the garden and looking for volunteers.

Don Burnett NEW – Passage Point

Lisette – Eastridge Church –Served 12 people at the Dental Van yesterday. Van funded by Sammamish Rotary and Eastridge and client appointments coordinated by the IFCB. Meeting s are underway for Tools 4 schools.

CindaySilverstien – IVE PTA & Real Estate – Lunch for a Break boxes are between $55-$59. Shopping list is detailed. Directions and details on the home page of IFCB website.

Theresa Cheng – Local Dentist – Trying to find a partner dentist in Arizona… and wants to continue to gather in a small group to address War Veteran needs.

Wendy Pender NEW – King Co. Library, new position at library, older adult specialist.
