Actuarial Diversity Scholarship

The Actuarial Foundation supports the future of the actuarial profession and fosters the best and brightest students through its scholarships and reimbursement programs. The Actuary - A Career Change: Elizabeth M. Mauro Reimbursement Award encourages career changers aspiring to transition into the actuarial profession.
These scholarship opportunities not only offset the cost of education for individuals, but are prestigious honors. AFA Teens for Alzheimer’s Awareness Scholarship
Seniors who plan to enter a 4-year college or university. 1,200 to 1,500 word Essay: "How has Alzheimer’s disease changed or impacted your life? What have you learned about yourself, your family and/or your community in the face of coping with Alzheimer’s disease?"

AFSCME Family Scholarship
This scholarship is for graduating high school seniors only. Any graduating high school senior who is a daughter or son of an AFSCME member, (or whose legal guardian or financially responsible grandparent is an AFSCME member) and who intends to enroll in a full-time, four-year degree program in any accredited college or university, is eligible to apply for a scholarship.
$2000 each year for a max of four years
To be eligible, you must:
•Be a graduating high school senior whose parent, legal guardian or financially responsible grandparent is a full dues-paying AFSCME member;
•At the time the scholarship is awarded, be enrolled in a full-time degree program either at an accredited four-year institution or at a two-year institution that will transfer credits to a four-year institution; and
•Have taken the SAT or the ACT

AICPA Scholarships for Minority Accounting Students
The AICPA Minority Scholarship awards outstanding minority students to encourage their selection of accounting as a major and their ultimate entry into the profession. Funding is provided by the AICPA Foundation, with contributions from the New Jersey Society of CPAs and Robert Half International. For four decades, this program has provided over $14 .6 million in scholarships to approximately 8,000 accounting scholars. The organization offers a variety of scholarships to high school students as well as students already attending college. American Chemical Society Scholarships
ACS sponsors scholarship programs for qualified applicants who want to enter the fields of chemistry, biochemistry, chemical engineering, chemical technology and teaching. The programs aim to encourage diversity among applicants and build awareness of the value and rewards associated with careers in science and technology.
The following scholarships are the ones that ACS offers:
• ACS Scholars Program:Renewable scholarships for underrepresented minority students who want to enter fields in the chemical sciences. Scholars are selected based on academic standing, financial need, career objective, leadership skills, and involvement in school activities and community service.
• Project Seed: Scholarships to assist former SEED participants in their transition from high school to college. Students are eligible to receive up to $5,000.
• ACS-Hach Second Career Teacher Scholarships: Awarded to working chemists with an interest pursuing a teaching career at the secondary and postsecondary level.
• ACS-Hach Post-Baccalaureate Teacher Scholarships: Awarded to working recent graduates, graduate students, and post-doctoral professionals with limited work experience and an interest pursuing a teaching career at the secondary and postsecondary level.
• ACS-Hach Land Grant (Undergraduate) Teacher Scholarship: Undergraduate students selected by partner universities on the basis of their interest in and aptitude for teaching chemistry.

American Fire Extinguisher Scholarship Program
The AFSA Scholarship Contest is open to high school seniors in the United States who plan to further their education at a college/university or certified trade school in the United States. The scholarship is not based on financial need. Relatives of AFSA staff or board members may not enter. You must be a high school senior during the 2016-2017 school year who will attend a college/university or trade school in the United States starting with the fall 2017 semester.
Requirements: All applicants must read the "Fire Sprinkler Essay" presentation, given on the website, about automatic fire sprinklers and take a ten-question multiple-choice test. This is an open-book test and you may print out the paper beforehand for reference during testing. For each question answered correctly, students will receive one (1) entry into a drawing for one of ten $2,000 scholarships. For each question answered incorrectly, you will be given one more chance at the end of the exam to answer those questions correctly. For more information, please go to:

American Nuclear Society Scholarship Program
The American Nuclear Society believes in rewarding its members for their academic, services and leadership excellence. To do so, scholarships are granted to qualified student members of ANS Student Sections who have demonstrated a high commitment to the standards set by the Society's constituents.
All scholarships are funded by contributions from the ANS Board, ANS professional divisions and member donations through renewals. The total number and amount of scholarships are based upon the funds available each year, which varies each year.
Scholarships are granted to high school, undergraduate and graduate students alike, and will be awarded at the beginning of each school year. Evaluation is based upon numerous factors, including: academic preparation (GPA and test scores), awards, honors, leadership within the ANS, references, and career goals and objectives

ANS Incoming Freshmen Scholarship
ANS Incoming Freshman Scholarships are awarded to graduating high-school seniors who have enrolled,
full-time, in college courses and are pursuing a degree in nuclear engineering or have the intent to pursue a degree in nuclear engineering. ANS will give a maximum of four Incoming Freshman Scholarships annually. Each award is $1000.
The Scholarships are awarded based on an applicant’s high school academic achievement, freshman college courses enrolled in, quality and content of 500-word essay, letters of recommendation by counselors and/or teachers, and other information.

The APAISF Scholarship
Minimum Eligibility Criteria:
• Be of Asian and/or Pacific Islander ethnicity as defined by the U.S. Census
• Be a citizen, national, or legal permanent resident of the United States. Citizens of the Republic of the Marshall Islands, Federated States of Micronesia and the Republic of Palau are also eligible to apply
• Be enrolling in a U.S. accredited college or university in the Fall of 2014. Please read each listing for specific eligibility requirements regarding the academic standing required for each scholarship.
• Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.7 on a 4.0 scale (unweighted) or have earned a GED
• Must apply for federal financial aid using the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by February 1
• Submit one letter of recommendation
200 recipients will be awarded $2500-$5,000 each.

Army ROTC/U.S. Army
The high school Four-Year Scholarship is for high school students planning on attending a four-year
college program.
Requirements
Be a U.S. citizen
Be between the ages of 17 and 26
Have a high school GPA of at least 2.50
Have a high school diploma or equivalent
Score a minimum of 920 on the SAT (math/verbal) or 19 on the ACT (excluding the required
writing test scores)
Meet physical standards
Agree to accept a commission and serve in the Army on Active Duty or in a Reserve Component
(Army Reserve or Army National Guard)
Your Commitment
An eight-year service commitment with the Army.
Serve full time in the Army for four years and four years with the Individual Ready Reserve (IRR).
Selected Cadets may choose to serve part time in the Army Reserve or Army National Guard
while pursuing a civilian career

ARRL Foundation the National Association for Amateur Radio
The ARRL Foundation administers scholarships for post secondary education students holding a valid
FCC-granted Amateur Radio license. Scholarship awards range from $500 to $5000 or more.
Scholarships are funded by generous individuals and Amateur Radio organizations to encourage radioamateurs to pursue their educational goals. All ARRL Foundation-administered scholarships are intendedexclusively for educational use, to provide assistance with costs of tuition, room, board, books and/or
other fees essential to the education of the recipient. Application instructions and forms are only availableat: There are two application forms, the General ScholarshipApplication and a separate application for the Goldfarb Scholarship. Amount: $500-$5000.

Automotive Hall of Fame Scholarship
The Automotive Hall of Fame serves as administrator to over $20,000 in combined college scholarships annually. The applicant must indicate a sincere interest in an automotive related career.The program has specific scholarships for incoming freshmen and upper-level undergraduate students. All of the scholarships are based on financial needs and with the usual minimum GPA requirement of 3.0.
To be eligible for a scholarship you must:
•Submit a completed application form indicating a sincere interest in an automotive career.
•Provide an official transcript of all academic work.
•Submit two letters of recommendation supporting your automotive interests.
•Submit a letter of acceptance for an associate, bachelor, or master’s program.
•Be accepted at an accredited college, university or trade school within the United States at the time of application.
•Students attending a technical training school may also apply (trade school should equal a two-year
associate program).
•Student must be a United States citizen or in the United States on a Student Visa.
•Must be enrolled full-time.
•Must have 3.0 GPA or higher.

Ayo & Iken Children of Divorce Scholarship
The Law Firm of Ayo and Iken, a Florida law firm helping people with divorce and custody issues recognizes parents who co-parent their children despite the hardships of a separated household. Parents that successfully prioritize the best interests of their children should be recognized. We would like the children of those parents to be a success in life and recognize the outstanding example of parenting shown by their mothers and fathers.
The Law Firm of Ayo and Iken, would like to help Florida high school seniors who have lived in a divided household from which two parents strive to maintain respect for each other as an ongoing concern while caring for their children. Two winners, selected by a committee of child custody attorneys, will each be awarded a $1,000 scholarship to be used toward their first year of college. The deadline to apply for the scholarship is May 1st, 2017. Please do not send in applications until after April 1st, 2017.

Big Sun Scholarship
The BigSun Organization is proud to be able to help young athletes succeed in their academic pursuits. In order to do our part, we are offering an annual scholarship to a deserving student. All student athletes are eligible for this award, regardless of which sport they are participating in.
