GP/Nurse Update

All patients at Framfield are registered with one of the GPs. We would ask that where possible you see your registered GP as that helps with continuity of care. Framfield is proud to have operated this personal list system for many years which is very popular with our patients. If your registered GP is not available you can still be seen by an alternative GP.

To assist you when booking appointments our GPs usually work on the following days:

Dr Finn Wednesday & Friday

Dr Howard-Griffin Monday, Wednesday & Thursday

Dr Lynch Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday & Friday

Dr Thompson Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday & Friday

Dr Tinsley Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday & Friday

Dr Townsley Tuesday & Friday

Dr Towse Monday & Thursday

Dr Williams Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday

We are pleased to inform you that Dr Tinsley has now taken over the patient list of Dr Verrill.

Jenni Ball is now qualified as a nurse practitioner taking our total number of nurse practitioners to 3 – Catriona McCallum, Sue Lowe and Jenni Ball. Our nurse practitioners are highly qualified and can deal with most on the day patient medical problems.

Jenni will no longer be working as a treatment room practice nurse from 1 September and we are currently recruiting to fill her role.

Health Awareness Morning

Our patient participation group in conjunction with Ipswich & East Suffolk Clinical Commissioning Group are holding a Health Awareness on Monday 18th July from 9.30 to 12.30 in the downstairs waiting room. There will be various stands including those from Healthwatch, Suffolk Wellbeing, Active Lives, Warm Homes Healthy People and One Life Suffolk.

New appointment system

The practice is aware that over recent months access to appointments has been a problem in some cases and we are pleased to announce that following many audits we have revised our appointment system meaning that GP appointments are now released on a staggered basis. This means that appointments are released on the day of the appointment, the day before, 2 days before, 7 days before, 14 days before, 28 days before and 42 days before. This system was introduced partly on 1 April and the remainder of the new system on 1 May and to date has been a success. Some of the appointments with our nurse practitioners are also released a few days in advance.

Appointments are still available to book through the online booking system. If you are not signed up for this service but would like to, please come into the surgery with photographic ID (passport/driving licence) and Reception will set this up for you. If you have any problems using the online booking system please contact Jayne Casey at the surgery. If you would like to discuss the appointment system further please speak to a member of the management team.

Non Attenders

During the month of March 2016 222 appointments were not utilised by patients not attending. This figure fell to 123 appointments in May 2016 and 142 appointments in June 2016. Please cancel appointments as soon as you know you cannot attend to give other patients the opportunity to take that appointment. You can do this on our automated telephone booking system 24hrs, on SystmOnline via our website and by calling the surgery during opening hours. Thank you.
