Ø  Review/Discussion Topics

§  2014 Programming ideas and recommendations

The Committee reviewed annual expenditures and budget, including strategies and tactics that would be conducted by staff through in house operations Vs strategies and tactics done through HRB.

The Committee determined approval for more outdoor advertising in the 2014 year.
The committee determined that press releases would now be developed by staff.

Ø  HRB Presentation of plausible 2014 strategies and tactics
HRB gave a detailed presentation of strategies and tactics for the 2014 year including ideas for traditional marking, digital marketing, internet marketing, email marketing, social media marketing, website optimization, public relations and event marketing as well as other ideas.
HRB noted that in order to effectively and efficiently manage Adwords on the iowonecall.com website, that they would need to work with One Call Concepts to embed tracking codes on specific web pages.

The committee had discussion regarding which strategies and tactics of HRB’s were beneficial to use for the 2014 year and which ideas were not beneficial to use for the 2014 year. Out of the ideas that were beneficial, the committee discussed which of the ideas could be conducted by staff through in house operations and which would need to be carried out by HRB.

The Committee decided to hold its next meeting January 10th, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. before the IOC board meeting at Prairie Meadows in Altoona.

Ø  Action Items

* Staff will create outline covering all of the strategies and tactics that HRB presented that will be used in the 2014 year and those that will not be used in the 2014. Of those that will be used staff will note which strategies and tactics can be conducted through in house operations and which will be conducted through HRB

* Committee will work with HRB to determine the effectiveness of Adwords

* Staff will look into obtaining a media list for PSA’s

* Staff will create a master calendar of events through the next two years
