PROJECT DESCRIPTION :
Traverse Bay Area Intermediate School District will receive sealed Bids for the following:
A. Repair of cracks and potholes in asphalt parking lots and drives.
B. Sealing of existing asphalt and repaired parking lots and drives with asphaltic sealer including BCS and CDL markings indicated in these specifications.
C. Provide parking markings for cars and busses as well as directional arrows per Owner’s direction, yellow paint and handicapped symbols in appropriate areas in standard blue paint.
It is the intent of the Owner to start work on the Arnell Engstrom Building portion of the project immediately following award of contract and on the Career Tech Center portion of the project on or before June 10, 2013 following completion of the 2012-2013 school year and following award of contract, with completions as early as possible.
TYPES OF BIDS REQUIRED: This project will be constructed under a single prime contract with Bids received on a lump sum basis.

All Bids received at such place, date and time will then be publicly opened and read aloud. Bids received after such time will be returned to the respective Bidder, unopened.

Complete sets of Bidding Documents may be obtained by Bidders on or after THURSDAY May 9, 2013 from Traverse Reproduction & Supply, 1373 Barlow St., Traverse City, MI, in accordance with the INSTRUCTIONS TO BIDDERS. There will be a non-refundable cost of $20.00 per set for printing plus shipping and handling (if necessary), assessed by Traverse Reproduction & Supply.
BID SECURITY
Each Bid must be accompanied by a bid security, which shall not be less than five percent (5%) of the amount of the highest combination of the Base Bid plus all requested ADD Alternates, in the required form and submitted in accordance with the INSTRUCTIONS TO BIDDERS.
BOND REQUIREMENTS: Bidders to whom award of a Contract is under consideration shall furnish and pay for an acceptable Performance Bond, Labor and Material Payment Bond and Supply Bond in a penal sum of 100% of the total amount payable by the terms of the Contract in accord with the INSTRUCTIONS TO BIDDERS.
MODIFICATION OR WITHDRAWAL OF BID:
A bid may not be modified, withdrawn or canceled for a period of forty five (30) calendar days after the time and date designated for receipt of Bids.
PRE-BID MEETING
Bidders are instructed to inspect the site and conditions under which the work is to be performed, and any obstacles which may be encountered. A MANDATORY PRE-BID SITE VISIT is scheduled for TUESDAY, May 14, 2013 AT 10:00 A.M. Contractors! - Meet in the main lobby at the Arnell Engstrom Admin. Building 1101 Red Drive, Traverse City, Mi., once reviewed, all will move from there to the Career Tech Center site.
THIS IS NOT A MICHIGAN PREVAILING WAGE RATE PROJECT.
The TBA ISD reserves the right to reject any and all Bids; is not obligated to accept the lowest or any other Bid; and may waive any informality or irregularity in bidding procedure.
