Environmental Conservation Specialist – Brief Description:

BCRP Forestry Division seeks an Environmental Conservation Specialist (ECS) for their Invasive Vegetation Management and Forest Restoration Program. The ECS will be responsible for a coordinating and managing restoration projects by conducting park site surveys, determining appropriate control methods and long term monitoring. Additionally, the ECS will be responsible for developing and leading community engagement and education programs related to restoration and conservation such as the Baltimore Weed Warriors and TreeKeepers programs. A bachelor’s degree in Forestry, Ecology, Natural Resource Management or related field and at least 3 year of experience working in restoration or natural resource management is required. Maryland State Pesticide Applicator License is preferred. Must have a valid Driver’s License. Starting salary range, based on experience, is between $49,000 and $62,000. Health insurance benefits are offered after 12 months.

Crew Leader – Invasive Vegetation Management and Forest Restoration– Brief Description:

BCRP Forestry Division seeks a Crew Leader (CL) to oversee the activities of skilled and semi-skilled workers implementing invasive plant management and forest restoration projects in city parks. The CL will assist with development and implementation of invasive vegetation management and reforestation projects and monitor crew work for quality and conformance to City policies and regulations. The CL will also be responsible for reporting and monitoring project data and keeping chemical treatment logs in accordance with Maryland State Pesticide License requirements. A bachelor’s degree in Forestry, Ecology, Natural Resource Management or related field is preferred as well as 2 years of experience in restoration or natural resource management work. Experience leading a work team is preferred. Must become a licensed Maryland State Pesticide Applicator within 2months of start date. Must have a valid Driver’s License. Starting salary range, based on experience, is between $40,000 and $55,000. Health insurance benefits are offered after 12 months.
