Attendance: 20
Introduction: President Rick called the meeting to order at 7:10 pm.
Membership: Current 2017TMC membership is 170 members, 11 of which are sponsors.
Visitors: Renewing member Hal Washington and new member Ron Burroughs
Minutes: Club secretary read over the minutes from March’s meeting.
Treasure’s Report: Carl read over the treasurer’s report. The club balance at the end of March is $4,486.48.
Gust Speaker: TMC member Rick Seaman gave a presentation on his business Rick’s Radio Service. Rick offers custom radios for your vehicle with Bluetooth, usb, am/fm radio, and 8-track possibilities. If you’re in need of radio help, contact Rick!
Old Business / Shows
Update on member Bill Keating, back in hospital due to complications.
9th Annual TMC/Hall Dodge/TCC’s All Mopar Show & Shine – April 22, 2017
Very successful show, a lot of participants, and great weather!
New Business / Shows
Club Picnic – June 17th, 2017 and the location is Northwest River Park, 1733 Indian Creek Rd, Chesapeake, VA. We will be incorporating a club cruise during the picnic to Knotts Island. Sign up sheet was passed around. Went over food items being provided by the club (BBQ, Fried Chicken, baked beans, coleslaw, rolls, and drinks). Members attending are asked to bring a dessert or side dish to share.Please RSVP with the club secretary so we can have an accurate head count when ordering the BBQ and Fried Chicken. *This will be a rain or shine event as we have paid for a covered pavilion picnic area*
Mopar Madness –September 16, 2017 at Virginia Motorsports Park. The feature car for this year’s show will be the 1970 T/A Challenger and the new 2017 T/A Challenger. The hemi shootout will be held on the 16th. The 1967 Coronet and 1967 GTX have also been included in the feature cars for this year’s show.
DIY American Garage Field Trip– The club discussed taking a field trip to the garage to see car bays and meeting rooms. Rick Seaman agreed to get this coordinated. We also discussed possibly having an auto maintenance session at the garage to teach basic car maintenance to those club members who are interested (possibly with their children, grandchildren, etc…).
48th Annual AACA Car Show – June 24th at St. Joseph’s Villa in Richmond. They are specifically requesting 50’s & 60’s model Mopars for the show. Point of contact is Joe Guckert at 804-530-0461.
TMC/Local Cruise-In’s in 2017
Cars and Coffee – La Promenade Shopping Center – Laskin Rd., VA Beach 1st Saturday of every month, 6-9am TMC Sponsor Member Dwayne Appleton has Java Surf available for coffee and breakfast. TMC members get a discount!
Landstown Commons Saturday Night Cruise-Ins – 3300 Princess Anne Rd. Virginia Beach Every Saturday night from 4:00 till 9:00 PM, held in the same area as last year. (Behind Finn McCool’s)
50/50 Raffle: - No 50/50 raffle this month.
