February Minutes accepted
Treasurers Report: $54,574.55 beginning balance that includes the annual $10,000.00 deposit from Dick’s Sporting Goods sponsorship. Checks paid equaling $1,120.00 with an ending balance of $53,454.55.
Boys VP: Please take care of coach certifications ASAP. They are required to be all set by April 1. The NH training is set for Saturday 3/18 (level 2) and Sunday 3/19 (level 1) at Exeter High School. Check your coach’s status. Each organization needs (1) person to attend a rules interpretation meeting. Those meetings will be posted on the NHYLA site. Exeter will be hosting one for both boys and girls this Sunday after the level 1 CEP course. Several will be added soon.
Girls VP: Other than Exeter HS there are options to get certified in Portland, Maine (3/31) and a few others in Massachusetts. These are all listed on the US Lacrosse website. Please get your coaches certified.
Boys Officials: Coaches trainings this weekend in Exeter. Walk up signups are available. Please get all coaches certified. Londonderry referee training finishes this week and Wolfeboro training finishes this weekend. There will be games at DerryfieldHS and Exeter HS in the next few weeks where referees can get game training. Please make sure you set this up with Wayne. Wayne also requested that each town make a concerted effort to get all youth officials games. There are (78) level 2 referees returning and (25) new level 1 for a total of (103) youth officials to date. There is also +/- (80) NOLA referees listed.
Girls Officials: Windham is hosting a rules interpretation on 3/18 and Pelham on 3/28. More will be confirmed and listed soon on the NHYLA site. An updated certified official list is on the site for reference (one is by region). New trainees are wrapping up. Many new girl’sofficials this year being trained. We should start to see the positive impact of this going forward.
President: Teams Compete needs all your information to run schedules. A discussion took place regarding knocking off the first week of games to reduce to (7) because of poor weather. The end result was to keep (8) games and wait and see what happens (games will need to be re-scheduled). Start of official games will be Sunday April 8. The competition committee met before the meeting to discuss some necessary team moves. Those moves were discussed further and the opportunity for the larger group to comment was given. Some boy’s teams were being moved. No girl’s teams are being moved at this time. After the first couple weeks the committee will look to make a few needed changes. First run of schedule will be this week. Changes will be made and Steve will let everyone know when the schedule is good to go.
Dick’s Appreciation Day was discussed. The turnout was not as good this year as in years past. Please push the second one to all of the people within your organization and beyond (along with the coupon link). The second Appreciation Days are 3/24 and 3/25 at each of the NH stores and online. April 1st is the deadline for rosters. We also need certificates of insurance by that date. Steve asked all those administrators to please check each coach listed to make sure the certification process for each coach is not flagged. There was a follow up to the 10U no mercy rule brought up by Dave Pelletier. Steve proposed a new rule (proper prior notice was given) that states that the president can bring any issue to the larger group and the group can vote on it (passed). Then the entire group voted on the proposed rule change stating that at girls 10U there will be a mercy rule when more than 4 goals. New rule states that when one team is winning by more than 4 goals, the losing team can take ball (discretion of losing coach). Girl’s officials will be scheduled by NHYLA this season. If you do not use referees scheduled thru NHYLA, your game will not count and you must pay those referees that were scheduled .
