Introduction from Neil McLean

Chief Executive, Social Enterprise Academy

Thank you for your interest in becoming our new Learning Co-ordinator in Grantown-on-Spey.

We help thousands of people, from all walks of life, to develop social enterprises through dynamic learning and development programmes in leadership, enterprise, personal development and social impact.

Through our network of skilled tutors we help entrepreneurship and leadership to flourish in enterprises, charities and schools. We support start-up social entrepreneurs, unemployed young people, chief executives and many others to utilise their strengths and enable the change they want to see in the world.

We began our work in central Scotland in 2004, and opened our hub in Inverness in 2008. We have worked with thousands of social entrepreneurs and organisations up and down the country, becoming a vital part of Scotland’s thriving voluntary and community sector.

This role is crucial in helping us to deliver our unique learning and development programmes across the North of Scotland. It is an exciting opportunity to recruit and engage with a wide range of people to support their development as leaders and social entrepreneurs.

In addition, your administrative and organisational skills will support our experienced and dynamic tutors to deliver a quality programme to our learners. If you enjoy interacting with people and are committed to delivering targets you will fit in with our team.

We know from evidence that what we do has a significant impact on the personal growth and organisational sustainability of people working for social purpose. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a difference.

I hope you will consider applying - good luck!

Yours sincerely,

About the Social Enterprise Academy

We specialise in learning and development programmes focused on leadership, enterprise, and social impact measurement.

Following rapid growth and demand for our programmes since 2004, we now design programmes for organisations and individuals across the public, private and third sectors here in Scotland and internationally.

Vision & Mission

Our vision is of a society which combines economic activity with social benefit, a society led by dynamic social entrepreneurs, wherever they may be.

Our mission is to contribute to this change through learning and development

Our Approach

The Social Enterprise Academy delivers learning and development programmes for people and organisations working for social purpose.

We specialise in leadership, enterprise, learning and social impact programmes for the enterprising third sector but what we do can be for anyone, in any sector, at any stage in their development.

Our approach is ‘learning by doing’ - bringing together people who can learn from each other with the support of local practitioners. We work with entrepreneurial start-ups, young people in or out of education, as well as the staff, chief executives and board members of emerging and mature organisations.

Each learner builds on their strengths and focuses on developing clarity, confidence and self-awareness. They can also translate their learning into internationally recognised qualifications from the Institute for Leadership and Management (ILM).

Our aim is to help people to develop themselves, build their teams, and create stronger, healthier organisations so that they have greater community impact.
