Introduce a new clause as shown:
11.9.7.3 Supported Regulatory Classes
When a STA changes channel it not only has to transmit the Supported Channel IE, but also the Supported regulatory Classes IEs as defined in clauses 10.3.6 and 10.3.7.
This section [SM : when complete] will detail the procedure by which a Supported Regulatory Class can be verified for the suggested Supported Channel before association or re-association is completed.
Annex I
(informative)
Change the text in the following clause as shown:
I.2.2 Transmit power levels
The maximum allowable output power for; the USA 4.9 GHz public safety band is shown in Table I.5, Japan is shown in Table I.6, and for all other regulatory domains is shown in Table I.4.
Move Table I.6 from clause I.2.3 into clause I.2.2
[SM : If anyone has a MSword version of 802.11ma Rev 9.0 Annex I and Annex J, I’m sure I could do a better version of this text]
Beneath Figure I.1, introduce the new clause heading clause as shown:
1.2.3.1 Japan Operation
Further down introduce the new clause heading clause as shown:
1.2.3.2 USA Public Safety Band Operation
At the end of Annex I, introduce a new clause as shown:
1.2.3.3 USA 3650 MHz Band Operation
[SM : move text from clause 5.2.7. into here. Again if anyone has a MSword version of the 11y draft text, that would help me out nicely]
Annex J
(normative)
Introduce number of initial clause as shown:
J.1 Country Information element and regulatory classes
Change the following line of text as shown within new clause J.1
The regulatory classes specificed for 4.9 GHz and 5 GHz operation in the USA are enumerated in Table J.1
Insert the following new clause as shown:
J.2 Station Operation using Supported Regulatory Classes
As reference in clause 11.9.7.1 the adoption of a new channel (either by association or re-association) by an STA shall satisfy applicable regulatory requirements including those of the supported regulatory classes as specified in Tables J.1, J.2 and J.3.
[SM : Not sure if more text from 11.9.7.1 should be placed here]
