Case Study
Kayla is a 22-year old college student who wants to be a nurse. She is 5’4 and weighs 135 lbs. She works part time on the weekends at a clinic to get experience. Kayla knows about a balanced diet, but still sometimes skips breakfast or lunch throughout the week when she is busy with work, her social life or studying. When she is feeling extra fatigued during the day she will drink an espresso or diet coke to wake up.
Kayla enjoys yoga, running, and swimming and tries to work out at least 3-4 times a week for 60 minutes. She wants to be healthy and be at her ideal weight which is 125 lbs. Sometimes she gets mad at herself for eating “unhealthy foods” like hamburgers and french fries. Kayla has been particularly stressed out lately with her classwork, boyfriend, job and applying to LPN schools. Over the past two months she has gained 5 pounds.
