SELECTION CRITERIA

Please will all coaches make players aware of the selection criteria.

In 2014 all players will be required to play in KZN Closed and 1 other tournament. They will also be required to play in the KZN Ranking tournament which will take the place of squad and will be played over the weekend. The Qualifying tournaments are: KZN Pre-season(to be invited to SA Closed), KZN Open and the KZN Closed.

Players must have a reasonable excuse(or verified doctors certificate) to be excused from the KZN Closed and ranking tournament.

Results from any National Junior Opens and Boys Super 8 will also be taken into account.

Please make sure players are aware of criteria. Players who do not participate regularly in tournaments, do not perform at Inter-Provincials so in order to get tournament fit they will be expected to play in as many tournaments as possible.

Selection will be based on performance at all these tournaments and players will be selected according to all results during the year. Players participating in all the tournaments will be selected ahead of players only playing in the 2 compulsory tournaments. Selectors have the right to request challenges from players and match temperament will also be taken into consideration when selecting teams – not only results.

IF players have results from these extra tournaments, and are injured and unable to play in the compulsory tournaments they may be eligible for selection (certified doctors certificates will be required).

IF players have not played in these extra tournaments and cannot play in the compulsory tournaments they will NOT be considered for selection.

DEPOSIT OF R1000 must be paid by the 9 May. If this is not paid players will will not be selected to any KZN teams. Money is required for airline and tournament deposits

FULL AMOUNT MUST BE PAID ON 30 MAY - NO PLAYER WILL BE SELECTED IF THE MONEY IS NOT PAID AS WE HAVE TO FINALISE AIR TICKETS
