Molding Products LLC is a manufacturer of custom sheet molding compounds (SMC) serving Tier I automotive, consumer, marine, and industrial thermoset compression molders.

We have an opening for an experienced Maintenance Mechanic at our South Bend, Indiana manufacturing facility. This position will perform safe maintenance, repair, or replacement of plant equipment and systems that will ensure the efficient manufacturing of a high quality SMC product.

Major Responsibilities:

·  Must have basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, grounds maintenance or building trades, tools, pumps, drives, hydraulics, machining, and pneumatics, etc.

·  Follow safety procedures including personal protective equipment required for various tasks at all times.

·  Research costs and availability for equipment or parts needed to complete projects on a limited basis as requested.

·  Work with all staff regarding any repair, replacement, or safety needs in the plant.

·  Perform repairs needed to maintain building and surrounding property.

·  Troubleshoots and analyzes problems of a wide variety of situations and provide solutions to the best of your ability.

·  Aid in the inventory control and purchasing of parts, spare parts, tools, and equipment for the plant and keep accurate and detailed records.

·  Work and communicate with outside contractors and engineers when required.

·  Keep scrap rates to a minimum.

·  Maintain plant cleanliness.

·  Aid in identifying areas of low efficiency regarding the manufacturing plant operations or scheduling and present possible solutions for improvement.

·  Aid in any after hour’s emergencies related to maintenance as they arise in the plant when required.

Ideal Candidate:

·  High School Degree or equivalent.

·  Must be able to lift 50 pounds.

·  Must be able to wear assigned personal protective equipment.

·  Must be able to read and comprehend work orders.

·  Must be willing to work overtime and off hours.

·  Must be able to work either first or second shift – Monday – Friday:

1st Shift – 4:00 am – 1:00 pm - 2nd Shift – 1:00 pm – 10:00 pm

·  Must have good mechanical skills and an eye for detail.

·  Must have the ability to drive a fork lift and operate industrial equipment.

·  Experience in manufacturing plant maintenance, preferably in the SMC or plastics fields.
