Subject: Meeting of Task Group 1/5 of Radiocommunication Study Group 1 on Unwanted emissions and the modification of RecommendationITURSM.3288 concerning outofband emissions

Introduction

The next meeting of Task Group 1/5 was foreseen in the programme of the work of Task Group1/5.

Date and place of the meeting

The Administration of India on behalf of the Ministry of Communications has kindly offered to host the meeting of the Task Group (see Annex 1). It will meet from 6 to 14January 2000 in the Indian Space Research Organisation, Bangalore, India. Further details will follow in an Addendum to this letter. Services directly connected with meeting activities, such as delegate registration, document distribution, etc. will be located in the same building. Registration will commence at 08:30 hours on 6 January 2000. The meeting of the Task Group will commence at 14:00 hours.

Programme of the meeting

A preliminary draft agenda is contained in Annex 2.

Working language

The Task Group conduct its work in English.

Contributions

Contributions in response to the work of the Task Group are invited. These will be processed according to the provisions laid down in Resolution ITU-R1. One copy of each contribution should be sent to the Director, Radiocommunication Bureau for processing. Contributions should also be sent to the Chairman of the Task Group and to the Chairman and ViceChairmen of Study Group 1. The pertinent addresses can be found in Annex3 to this circular. Participants are encouraged to submit contributions on magnetic diskettes along with paper copies, or by electronic mail to:

In view of the holiday season and closure of the ITU up to 3 January 2000 inclusive, contributions can only be accepted until 13:00 hours 24 December 1999.

Documents received up to six weeks in advance of the meeting are dispatched, as far as possible, before the meeting in their original language. Later contributions, received up to seven days in advance of the meeting, are made available at the opening of the meeting in the original working language and, if possible, in English. The Secretariat cannot guarantee that documents received after the sevenday limit can be made available for the opening of the meeting. Resolution ITU-R 1 provides that contributions which are not available to participants at the opening of the meeting shall not be considered.

Participation

The intended participation of your representative(s) should be advised not later than one month before the opening of the meeting, by means of the annexed form (Annex 4) (to be photocopied as required).
