Essential skills and competenciesfor the role / An example of how you have demonstrated this skill or competency
  1. Relevant tertiary qualifications: post graduate degree in International development, Social Change, International Studies, Political Science, Sociology, Anthropology, Human Geography or related disciplines.

  1. A minimum of 5 years international development experience.

  1. A minimum of 3 years management experience, including ability to mentor and direct staff; plan, organise, prioritise and implement work flow to meet departmental objectives, work independently, be proactive, and exercise maturity and good judgement.

  1. Experience in the community development and humanitarian sector in fundraising strategy and product development.

  1. Ability to analyse and systematically compile technical and statistical information for fundraising product design and strategy.

  1. Experience with church-based aid and development.

  1. Demonstrated ability to plan, administer and control budgets.

  1. Demonstrated ability and commitment in critical networking, relationship building and partnerships, especially in the Australian NGO and development sector.

  1. An understanding of compliance issues and requirements in the community development sector specifically ACFID and DFAT accreditation.

  1. High standard of written and spoken English, with experience in writing grant applications.

  1. An authentic committed Christian: -

  3. Able to understand, engage with and support the Biblical theology that informs the organisation’s development approach
  4. Able to participate enthusiastically in prayer sessions, biblical reflection sessions and church services with staff and overseas partners
