INTERNATIONAL PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT FELLOWSHIP PROGRAMME – 2010

The Institute is organizing an International Professional Development Fellowship Programme from 20th May, 2010 to 27th May, 2010 covering Rome, Florence, Venice (Italy), Innsbruck (Austria), Munich (Germany) and Engelberg, Zurich (Switzerland).

On 27th May, at Zurich, there would be an International Conference which will address the `emerging challenges the corporates are facing globally in terms of economic activities, social obligations and growing commitments towards environment, the surge in shareholders’ activism and demand for more disclosures in the overall changing context.

Theme of the Conference -

“PLANET, PEOPLE AND PROFIT: THE NEW INTERNATIONAL PARADIGM FOR CORPORATE SUSTAINABILITY”

To have threadbare deliberations, there would be Sub-Groups of the delegates. These sub-groups will be constituting their views and suggestions by having their internal group discussions/presentations, etc. from day one till the date of the Conference. The findings/suggestions so emerged would be presented at the International Conference on 27th May, 2010 at Zurich.

The delegate fee for the International Conference is Rs.10,000/- (included in the package). Delegates will be entitled to Ten Programme Credit Hours for this Conference.

DETAILS OF FELLOWSHIP PROGRAMME

Day 01: 20 May, 2010: Rome

  • Arrival at Rome Fiumicino Airport.
  • On arrival in Rome, transfer to the hotel.
  • Check-in to the hotel Holiday Inn Parco Dei Medici or similar. (Early check-in is subject to availability of rooms).
  • Proceed for guided city tour of Rome.

One will have the first glimpse of Rome with a Guided City Tour of the most

important sites: Colosseum, Roman Forum, Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps, and Pantheon.

Visit to Vatican city- the smallest country in the world (shorts or sleeveless vests not allowed). Mother Teresa was beatified here on 19th October, 2003. After visiting the Vatican, proceed to the famous Colosseum- the venues of grand contests in the ancient times, The Forum & other monuments of ancient Roman rulers. Then its time to visit Trevi Fountain where one can ask for a wish by tossing a coin over your shoulders into the Fountain. Just behind it are the famous Spanish Steps. The tour will cover Arch de Constantine, the Forum Romanum, the temples of Saturn & Concord, the Arch of Augustus, the Circus Maximus and other important Roman monuments.

  • Dinner at Indian restaurant.
  • Return and stay overnight at the hotel.

Day 02:21 May, 2010: Rome- Pisa- Florence

  • Business breakfast at the hotel
  • Check out and transfer to Pisa at 0830 hours by coach.
  • Arrival in Pisa at 1230 hours.
  • Visit the "Field of Miracles", wherein stands the grand Romanesque Pisan styled marble cathedral. See the Baptistery and the bell tower, known throughout the world as Leaning Tower of Pisa.
  • Lunch at Pisa
  • 1500 hours - Transfer to Florence by coach.On arrival in Florence at 1630 hours- Enjoy the city tour of Florence.In Florence see the impressive Duomo, the 14th centuray Palazzo Vecchio Tower, the Basilica of Santa Croce and Ponte Vecchio, Florence's most distinctive bridge on the Amo River. Visit the Piazelle Michelangelo, for a breathtaking bird's eye view of Florence. Take a picture with the Statue of David, originally created by Michelangelo.
  • Check in at hotel First Florence Calenzano or similar.
  • Dinner at Indian restaurant
  • Overnight at the hotel

Day 03: 22 May, 2010: Florence – Venice or Padova

  • Business breakfast with discussion at the hotel
  • At 0830 hours- check out and transfer to Venice by coach. Arrival at 1200 hours.
  • On arrival, transfer to the Trouchetto pier to travel by Vaporetto (boat) to St. Mark’s Square past Palladian churches and ornate palazzos. The tour will cover the Bridge of Sighs, Doges’ Palace and Basilica of St. Mark (the largest Cathedral in the world), and eye catching demonstration of Murano glass blowing at Murano Glass Factory - option to buy a souvenir from their classic collection, one of the finest masterpieces of Venetian glass on display one can found.
  • Lunch at restaurant
  • Time free to shop at Venetian market.
  • Check in at the hotel Net Padova or similar.
  • Dinner at Indian restaurant
  • Overnight at the hotel in Venice or Padova.

Day 04:23 May, 2010: Padova/ Venice – Innsbruck

  • Business breakfast at the hotel
  • Check out and transfer to Innsbruck by coach.
  • On arrival, visit to Swarovski’s Crystal World - the makers of the world’s finest crystals.

Enjoy a unique visit to the amazing and sparking world of Crystals, created by Swarovski! One can explore the fantastic and sparkling crystal world of Swarovski, situated in Wattens. The water spouting Giant (a remarkable huge face sculptured on top of a rock) will amaze one with its sparkling eyes! Inside the Giant, a whole crystal world awaits : the Chambers of Wonders containing the Planet of Crystals, the Crystal Dome, the Crystal Theatre, the Ice passage and the Floating Poem. They all witness the level of artistic perfection reached by Swarovski and their images will be etched on one’s mind forever.

  • Transfer to Innsbruck and start with the local sightseeing

Visit the famous Golden Roof, Maria Theresien Strasse, and Trasmopolino, Olympic ski jump, Imperial Palace, Royal Church and other attractions in Innsbruck.

The best-known sight in Innsbruck is the Goldenes Dachl (Golden Roof). This golden canopy on top of a spectators’ gallery dates back around 1500 AD and was built by Holy Roman Emperor Maximilian I (ruled from 1493 to 1519).

The Golden Roof is at the T-junction of Maria - Theresien-Straße and Herzog-Friedrich-Straße and can be appreciated from any of these streets. The building itself houses the Maximilianeum, a small museum on the life of Maximilian. It is no longer possible to actually go onto the balcony covered by the Golden Roof.

Day 05: 24 May, 2010 : Innsbruck – Munich

  • At 0900 hours- Check out and proceed for Munich.

Capital of Bavaria and beer capital of Europe, Munich boasts as rich a wealth of art and architecture as any of Germany’s great cities. Where Frankfurt has entered into the spirit of modernity, Munich has retained the air of a traditional German city, and has grown in fame as keeper of Germany's folk customs and identity. It has been at the centre of the province for centuries. The Oktoberfest is, of course, the most famous example of provincialism, although latterly it has become an event of international significance. Appreciate the Bavarian architecture of the Frauenkirche, Marienplatz and the old town, the baroque magnificence of the Schloss Nymphenburg and the modern expanse of the Olympiapark, an icon of post-war Germany.

On arrival, proceed for City tour of Munich.

  • Lunch at restaurant.

This Munich Sightseeing Tour will give one a great overview of Munich. One will cross Konigsplatz, and pass the renowned art galleries Lenbachhaus, Old and New Pinakothek (Art Galary). The former artists' quarter Schwabing and travel along the impressive Ludwig and Prinzregentenstreet, which are lined by magnificent buildings such as the Theatiner Church, Hall of Generals (Feldherrnhalle), House of Arts, and the Angel of Peace. Visit to Deutch Museum would be a memorable experience.

Day 06: 25 May, 2010: Munich - Engel berg- Mt. Titlis- Lucerne

  • Business breakfast at the hotel in Munich.
  • At 0800 hours- Check out and proceed for one of the most beautiful country in Europe- “Switzerland” by coach.
  • On arrival, visit Mt. Titlis - The Mount Titlis experience world’s first revolving cable car known as ‘Rotair’

This glacier paradise at 10,000 feet offers a snow and ice experience on the highest viewpoint in Central Switzerland. This ticket entitles to round trip travel from Engelberg to Mount Titlis, a summer snow paradise in Central Switzerland with the world's first revolving cablecar. Ride the Ice Flyer, a chairlift that spans the glacier crevasses of Mount Titlis or take to a snow tube down a 500-ft. slide called the Fun Lift. Weee!

  • Enjoy hot Indian lunch at Titlis restaurant.

  • Later, proceed to Lucerne for local sightseeing

Day 07: 26 May, 2010:Engel berg- Mt. Jungfraujoch & Interlaken and transfer to Zurich

  • Start your Excursion to JUNGFRAUJOCH.

Interlaken, the heart of the Bernese Oberland. In Interlaken the tour will take to the rack railway for a tour of Jungfraujoch, also called “Top of Europe”, One of the main attractions being the journey on the amazing cogwheel trains. Experience the breathtaking views of the Aletsch Glacier, the longest glacier in the Alps. See the ice sculptures in the Ice palace or enjoy a drink at the Ice Castle.

  • Arrival at Lauterbrunnen.
  • RACK RAIL: LAUTERBRUNNEN-JUNGFRAUJOCH-LAUTERBRUNNEN.
  • Lunch at Bollywood Indian restaurant
  • After visiting ice caves, terrace & ice sphinx, start descending from Alps & reach Interlaken.

Day 08: 27 May, 2010: Zurich – India

  • Check-out of the hotel and transfer to the airport after Conference for return flight

Cost of Package does not include:

  • Cost of US $ 25,000 granted by RBI under the Basic Travel Quota (BTQ) scheme.

  • Any increase in the Rate of Exchange leading to increase in surface transportation and land arrangements which may come into effect prior to departure of the tour.
  • Portage at hotels and airports, tips, laundry, wines, mineral water and all items of personal nature forming part of the tour menu.
  • Anything not specifically mentioned in the “Tour price includes” as above.
  • Any other expenses of personal nature.

REGISTRATION PROCEDURE

You are requested to confirm your participation, with or without spouse, children or co-delegates, by sending a covering letter accompanied by the photocopies of the passport and an initial amount of Rs.20,000 per person traveling, by way of Demand Draft only issued in favour of the “Institute of Company Secretaries of India” payable at New Delhi as to reach the Director (Academics & Professional Development), ICSI House, 22 Institutional Area, Lodi Road, New Delhi 110 003 on or before 20th March, 2010 positively. Registration may however be withdrawn by a delegate on or before

27th March, 2010. Any request received for withdrawal after this date shall attract forfeiture of said registration charges.

Please also give details of passport number(s), Date of Issue, Date of Expiry, Place of Issue, at the time of registration. The balance payment be made on or before 10th April, 2010 by Demand Draft only issued in favour of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India payable at New Delhi.

Please note that joining to this programme is limited to members and others accompanying the members of the Institute.

It may further be noted that considering limited number of seats, the registration for this programme will be made on first-come-first-served basis.

Cancellation Charges

After issue of the ticket on 10th April, 2010 or visa application - 50% of the Tour Price

(I.e. upto 5.30 pm on 19th April,2010 )

Cancelled 15 working days prior - 75% of the tour price

(i.e. before 5.30 p.m. on 10th May,2010 but from 20th April,2010)

Cancelled 7 working days prior- 100 % of the tour cost

(i.e. from 10th May, 2010 onward)

Receipt of cancellation request will be considered on the basis of actual time of receipt of the request at the ICSI, Headquarters.

VISA PROCEDURE

The Visa procedure is very strict now. To travel, Schengen Visa from Italian Embassy is required to be obtained. The Tour Operator will co-ordinate the visa process directly with the delegate.
