International Berlin Cup Goalball 2017
We are happy after having a great tournament in 2016 to be able again to invite all men national goalball teams to participate in the International Berlin Cup Goalball 2017. The tournament will take place in Berlin, Germany from April 29th to May 1st 2017.
Tournament
The tournament dates in overview:
Arrival: April 28th 2017 before 19:00
Games: April 29th to May 1st 2017
Departure: May 1st 2017 after 15:00h
There will be a maximum of six teams, one of them will be the German team. We will play a round robin, followed by the semifinals (1-4, 2-3) and placement games for 1st, 3rd and 5th place. So each team will have between six and seven games during the tournament.
In preparation for the Paralympics we will use the German “KSG-Balls”.
Accommodation and meals
All teams will be accommodated in the same hotel within walking distance to the tournament venue (detailed information will follow). Accommodation will be offered in double rooms. Single rooms can be booked for an extra fee of 25Euros per night.
All meals, starting with dinner on the arrival day, are included in the entry fee. Breakfast and dinner will be served at the hotel, lunch will be offered at the tournament venue. If you have any special needs for food, please note that on the entry form.
A late check out for the departure day can be booked in advance depending on availability on own costs. Please indicate that on the entry form
Transportation
Berlin can be easily accessed via the airports Berlin Tegel (TXL) or Schoenefeld (SXF). Both airports are about the same distance from the hotel. Shuttle service will be provided from both airports.
When travelling by train, Berlin Central is the nearest station. Shuttle service from and to the station will be offered as well.
There will be one shuttle per team, if your team travels in more than one group a second shuttle can be organized but may cause extra costs. All shuttle times will be communicated with the teams in advance. Please let us know your time and point of arrival and departure as soon as possible.
Between hotel and tournament venue no shuttle service is necessary.
Entries
The entry fee for the tournament will be 2400 Euros per team with a maximum of eight persons. The entry fee includes accommodation (three nights in double rooms), dinner from Thursday April 28th to Saturday April 30th and Breakfast and Lunch from Friday 29th to Sunday May 1st.
Additional persons or extra nights as well as accommodation in single rooms can be arranged with the organizing committee for an extra fee depending on availability.
Entry deadline for the first entry is March 4th 2017. To register for the tournament, please send the first entry form no later than that to Ms Katharina Schaupp and make a deposit payment of 1000€ to the following account:

Only the first six teams with a completed registration will be accepted for the tournament. The participating teams will receive an official invoice and the second entry form after the first entry deadline. The second entry has to be submitted until March 30th 2017.
If you withdraw your entry after March 4th 2017 the paid deposit will be used to cover the expenses until that point, the rest can be transferred back.
Support for visa applications can be only given if the request is send before the first entry deadline on Mach 4th 2017.
