Internal Medicine Residency Program
On behalf of the faculty and staff of the Department of Medicine we are pleased to introduce you to the Palisades Medical Center Internal Medicine Residency. Our program was approved by the American Osteopathic Association for 21 positions and began trained residents in October 2012.
We are a community health system and our mission is to improve the health of the people of Hudson and Bergen Counties and surrounding communities through delivery of quality care and education.
Our trainees receive a well-rounded experience and are exposed to a variety of patient populations and teaching atmospheres at Palisades Medical Center, Meadowlands Hospital Medical Center and North Hudson Community Action Corporation outpatient clinics. This prepares our residents to succeed in careers as hospitalists, primary care internists and sub-specialists. Our house staff is able to achieve the balance of strong clinical training and rewarding personal life.
We are proud of our department's balance of community medicine, clinical excellence, teaching commitment and research opportunities. We are fortunate to have dedicated community physicians as well as fulltime staff at our hospital consortium. This faculty is complemented by private physicians in both primary care and subspecialties who commit their expertise and time to our program. One of the many advantages of our residency program is the one-on-one time spent with attending physicians.
We present our trainees with the unique opportunity to measurably improve the health of their community while learning both the art and science of medicine.
