FAMILY PLAY TIME is part of OXGANGS SURE START PROJECT which is a community based service offering support and guidance for families and carers with children who are aged 0 to 3 years.

FAMILY PLAY TIME AIMS

It is our aim to provide a service to local families which focuses on:
  • The Importance of Play
  • Building Self Confidence
  • Improving Communication
  • Including the Whole Family

FAMILY PLAY TIME OBJECTIVES

The work of this service is based on the creation and maintenance of a caring and supportive environment where parent/carers and children can play and enjoy time together. /

PRIORITIES

We feel it is important that parents/carers are able to talk freely yet be safe in the knowledge that everything is said in the strictest of confidence.
Confidentiality is very important and it is strictly adhered to.

SUPPORT

We would like to support you and your family. We will listen, be empathic, offer guidance and information and where appropriate assist you to access other services. We will not judge or criticise.

FAMILY PLAY TIME SERVICE

Early Years Practitioners will visit families weekly at home and deliver a structuredset of play and development sessions which will be planned in advance and agreed by the whole family. /

WHY PLAY

Play is a highly effective intervention that is wholly inclusive and completely non threatening.
In terms of a child’s development play is hugely important.
In the very early stages play encourages and promotes:
  • Secure Attachment
  • Growth
  • Learning
And is a crucial part of a child’s:
  • Physical
  • Emotional
  • Mental
Development, Health and Well Being.
