Mimi Johnson motioned to approve the minutes. Carol Maxwell seconded the motion. They were unanimously approved.

Libraries who do not return or pay for items lent.

Discussion around table the owning library should email or phone requesting library. Library will stop sharing materials to that particular library. Check with the OCLC - WorldCat Resource Sharing User Guide at http://www.oclc.org/us/en/support/documentation/resourcesharing/using/userguide/default.htm

Section 18.4 Lender to Borrower: Overdue covers WorldCat Policy.

Charging for Inter-Library Loan Requests

Villa Park charges Patron shipping to return the owning library.

Batavia charges $3.00 Flat fee to order items from out of state.

Glen Ellyn pays all Conditional Fees

Most Libraries pass the charges on to the Patron – only after the patron has approved the charges.

How long should we wait until we retry to requesting items after the first 5 in the lending string does not fill?

Discussion around the table:

Glen Ellyn will try up to 10 libraries

How far will a library go to order an item?

Some libraries will only order in the lower 48 States.

All limited to ordering from the United States

No Library will order from out of the County

How many libraries will Ship AV items?

All libraries will ship AV items in-States

Villa Park, Bloomingdale, Franklin Park and Itasca will ship AV items out of state.

They will not ship new AV items Bloomingdale will not ship sets of DVD’s.

Universities that Send DVD’s

Bates College, Maine

Moraine Valley College

Vander Cook College will send CD’s

Mimi Johnson has a list of Out of State DVD Lenders; she will send on to the members of the Inter-library loan Task Force.

Which Libraries allow patrons to put holds on items through WorldCat?

Villa Park, Glen Ellyn, and St. Charles.

OPEN FORUM

Glen Ellyn, Bloomingdale, Batavia, Villa Park, Franklin Park, – libraries were quiet

Geneva – New Policies – No Limits on Materials and DVD loans are now 2 weeks.

Itasca – Outside Construction is going well, we are hoping to be done by June.

St Charles- Changed their TV Show due dates. New TV Shows will be classified as 14day-

New they will remain new for 60 days, thereafter they will be 14 day loans.

Amanda

Will be checking the iBistro holds for items that are sets or volumes – currently a patron

does not have to click on what set or volume they want. They will make some changes that

the patron will have to choose what set or volume the want to place a hold on.

St Charles will be sending the Task Force a copy of their ILL Bookmark.

Procedure for Trapping holds for items received from Non-LINC libraries.

1. Enter short record

2. Put item on hold for patron

3. Trap Hold

4. E-mail pick-up notice generated for patron

DLS has an ILL Meeting on Thursday, May 7th.
