Course description: Crime Scene Investigation (CSI) is an important element of any criminal investigation. Crime scene investigators respond to crime scenes to document and collect potential evidence and testify in court during the criminal trial. The use of forensic science to solve crimes dates back to the 16th century and has continued to evolve. Today the use of DNA evidence is being used to convict and exonerate individuals in courtrooms around the world.
Students will be introduced to the field of forensic science and will learn how forensic science contributes to the successful prosecution of a criminal case. I expect you will have many questions during the semester and I encourage you to ask questions or for clarification on any topic we are discussing.
Attendance: You are responsible for any assignments you missed while you are absent. Please do not ask the instructor if you missed something while you were absent. The answer is Yes, you did.
Books: The book for this course is titled
It is your responsibility to bring your book to class every day and be prepared to discuss the assigned reading for the week.
Assignments: All assignments will have a due date. Any late assignments will result in a reduction in grade.
Grades:
Grades are based on a percentage of your overall performance in the class. Class participation and conduct will be considered when calculating your grade.
Class assignments: 30%

Projects: 10%
Quizzes: 20%
Netiquette: 10%
Semester finals: 20%
Total 100%
