General Lead Duties:

·  Initiate the process of having the same diagnostic test and final exams (at least 75% of the same concepts). Send out an email with the previous diagnostic tests/final exams used and initiate revisions with the group as necessary.

·  Lead one (paid) subject cohort meeting (usually in week 8 or 9) and give a summary of the discussion to Anne, along with the names of those who attended the meeting.

·  Find out what textbook the group wants to use for the next quarter (if you all use the same textbook) and let Anne know what book(s) should be ordered.

·  Initiate evaluation of new textbooks as needed.

·  Answer any questions that new teachers in your cohort may have.

Note: You are not expected to distribute weekly tests, materials, or lesson plans to the cohort. If you would like to distribute any of these, you are welcome to do so. Instructors do not have to use the tests (excluding diagnostics and finals), materials, lesson plans, or textbooks that the lead distributes, but every instructor needs to communicate with their cohort and participate in cohort meetings. If you do not use the same tests, materials, lesson plans, or textbooks, leads need to make sure the entire group has reviewed the MCOs. so all instructors are teaching/testing the same concepts.

Hours & Payment:

Leads are expected to work around 3-5 hours per quarter. The number of hours will be somewhat dependent on if you are using a new book and/or have new teachers in your cohort. Please email Anne if it looks like you might go over 5 hours for the quarter, so we can discuss it. You do not need to submit any form to be paid. Just keep track of your hours during the quarter and send me the total at the end. I will then submit your hours for payment.
