Brief Description: / Explain how this training will enhance the ability to respond to terrorism or other large-scale events.
The 2010 Erie Pennsylvania Tall Ships tabletop exercise is co-sponsored by the NWPAERG, NWPA Business Coalition for Homeland Security, and U.S. Coast Guard, Sector Buffalo, New York. The purpose of this exercise is to promote improved understanding of and identify various organizations and agency roles and responsibilities for responding to an incident during a large marine event within the Port of Erie. The tabletop exercise will provide participants with an opportunity to develop response priorities outline initial response actions and discuss the procedures for the implementation of an Incident and/or Unified Command. Individuals from the Northwestern Pennsylvania Region Area Maritime Security Subcommittee Exercise Workgroup have designed and will facilitate this exercise. The tabletop exercise will also allow for the participants to identify problems and shortfalls, review notification procedures and response actions, develop training initiatives and establish networking contacts.
The objectives for this exercise are:
1.Improve understanding roles and responsibilities of businesses and responders due to terrorist events
2.Review notifications and response actions for specific simulated terroristic incidents
3.Response & Resource Management – ICS 205
4.Coordination & Control (IC/UC) – ICS 207
