INSTRUCTIONS FOR UPDATING FACULTY PROFILES

In preparation for the publication of Saint Mary’s 2017 Report on Faculty Research, Scholarship, and Creative Activity, we ask faculty to update their profiles to include scholarly works completed between January 1, 2017 and December 31, 2017. Please complete your updates by February 28, 2018.

The report will be drawn from these four faculty profile tabs:

*Publications

*Presentations

*Honors, Awards, and Grants

1)To update your profile, go to:

2)Click on “edit a faculty profile,” and then log in using your Saint Mary’s user id.

3)Check your Home tab for the accuracy of your current title.

4)Click “edit” on the upper left side of the page. The “Edit” button appears between “View Published” and “Revisions.”

5)Use the Publications, Presentations, and Honors tabs on the left column to update your research, scholarship, and creative activity during 2017. List information using the following format:

•Last name, first name

•Project title, with publication title if your project appears within a larger work

•Publication information, to include the following, where applicable:

–Publisher, other publication information (e.g. volume, location, etc.); date; URL or doi if available

–Presentation / performance / production / exhibition venue and location; date; URL if available

–Grant, award, or fellowship grantor; location; date; URL if available

–If there are multiple authors, indicate who the primary author is.

•At the end of your entry, add “key words:” then add one or two key words.

6)After editing, click on the “Publish” button on the upper right side of the page.

FAQ’s / PROBLEM SOLVING

1. How do I add entries to match the same format as my existing entries?

  • Type your first additional entry to reserve the same format.
  • Press [Enter]. Now you are able to copy and paste.
  • To copy and paste, click on the [Paste Text] option located in tools. Paste and format your entry according to preference here. When completed, click [Insert].
  • Now your entry should be listed. From here, you are able to make minor corrections and additions such as italicizing, bold, etc.

2. What should entries look like?

3. What if the link doesn’t work?

  • Copy and paste this linkinto your browser:
  • Click on “edit a faculty profile.” You will be prompted to log in to access editing privileges. Log in. You are now on the Faculty Profiles master page.
  • Type your last name into the search box. This should bring up your name. Click to open your profile.
  • At the upper left, above the Saint Mary’s logo, you will see: “View Published | Edit | Revisions” Click “Edit.”
  • Proceed with the editing process.

4. What if I still experience technical problems?

  • Contact the IT service deskat 631-4266, submit a web help request form, or email IT Services at .

5. What if I am unable to update my profile, or if I do not have a profile?

  • Please send your information to Elizabeth Gallagher at by February 28, 2018; title the message [Your Name: 2017 Research Report].
