CIM User Group Web Site Instructions

for Vasteras Meeting Attendees

The CIM User Group is launching a new web site and you are invited to join this community. Creating a new account is required. Following are the steps required for the new site.

  1. Browse to Both Internet Explorer and Firefox browsers are supported. In the future this will be changed to and
  2. In the area marked “Please Register as UCA Guest to Access More Info,” enter your information. This becomes your user profile, and the system will immediately create an account for you on the new site. For the password, six or more characters or numbers are required (a combination of characters and numbers is encouraged). Your new username will be in the format “Firstname.Lastname.” If a user name identical to yours exists, then a sequential integer will be added to the last name. An email will be sent to you for confirmation, as shown in the example at the right. (If the email doesn’t seem to arrive immediately, check your spam or junk-mail folder.) This new account will work for the CIMug site and also for all other new UCA-sponsored sites as they are launched.
  3. Login with your new account information, using the Login fields on the home page. These fields will disappear after login, and will reappear after you logout. During your visit to the site, there are links available in the upper right corner of your screen to Logout or to access your Profile.
  4. The UCA administrator (Kay Clinard) will be notified immediately when a new account has been created. He will associate your user name with your role as a corporate or individual member (and as a working group or project leader, if that applies). You will then have all the access rights that belong with your role. You can expect Kay to complete this change within 24 hours.

If you have a few colleagues who would like to access the site immediately under a Corporate membership, you may share this document with them and they can use the same process. However, in the near future we do plan a bulk migration of all accounts from the existing CIMug site to the new CIMug site. Email invitations will be sent to those existing accounts. That migration process will be managed along similar lines as the process discussed on this page. We must approach this carefully and in incremental steps since Kay is the only resource available to get this work done.

If you have questions, we encourage you to use the Ask for Help link on the left panel of home page of the site.
