This system utilises a simple 2 wire system for operation of all remote devices. Only the Main Control Panel requires a connection to the electrical supply.
All remote devices (Remote Reset Panel, Alarm Pull Cord and Over Door Indicator & Sounder) are connected in parallel using 2 core extra low voltage cables (not supplied). The remote devices can be connected in any order. Connections are not polarized. Maximum cable distance between devices is 100m. It is recommended that a twisted pair cable or sheathed cable with at least 2 cores is used. Extra low voltage wiring must be segregated away from mains cabling.
Before drilling or making any holes, check that there are no obstructions hidden beneath the mounting surface such as joists, pipes or cables.
Mount all devices in suitable locations as described in the section above.
Make connections from the electrical supply to the Main Control Panel in accordance with the following;
Live – Brown or Red
Neutral – Blue or Black
Earth – Green and Yellow
Battery Back Up: / The Main Control Panel is supplied complete with a back-up battery providing 20 minutes of continuous alarm signal and a standby time of 2 hours. The battery should be connected before first use.
Volume Control: / A potentiometer on the printed circuit board inside the Main Control Panel can be used to adjust the volume of the sounder on the main panel.
Powering Up Self Test: / On initial power up the control panel will switch to self-testing mode. If there are any problems the amber fault LED will be illuminated to indicate broken or damaged wiring.
