Announcement

On October 9 of 2014 in the framework of the All-Ukrainian Scientific Conference “Modern philology: paradigms, approaches, problems” the Institute of Philology of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv together with the Institute of Ukrainian Language of National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine with the support of the Embassy of Greece to Ukraine organizes the Scientific Conference in honour of the 75th birthday of the Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Doctor of Philological Sciences, Professor Nina Klimenko, also to celebrate the 15th anniversary of work of the Chair of Hellenistics she founded in the Institute of Philology of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv.

Conference themes shall be as follows:

1.  Derivation in conceptual and linguistic world image.

2.  Word formation in the context of globalization.

3.  Foundations of formation of categorical-functional grammar.

4.  Language modeling and computer technologies for language information processing.

5.  Language synergy within the new information society.

6.  Ukrainian-Greek language parallels: typology and characterology.

7.  Translation: new tasks and prospects.

8.  Actual problems of translation lexicography.

9.  Hellenic studies in time and aerial perspective.

10.  Interlanguage and intercultural communication in new Europe.

11.  New approaches in studies of the Greek world contacts in historical sciences.

Working languages of the Conference are Ukrainian, other Slavic, Modern Greek, English. Texts of reports and papers shall be published.

Please submit your papers by an e-mail at: by October 1, 2014 saved in MS Word 97-2000 for Windows 98-2000, as *.doc and *.rtf file.

Requirements for papers:

Annotations and key words must be given in Ukrainian, Russian and English.

Papers size is up to 5 full pages.

1.  Font: Times New Roman. Font type: 14 points. 1.0 line spacing. Paragraph indention – 1,25. Margins:

2. Should papers contain other than Times New Roman fonts, please be sure to submit them separately in the electronic form.

3. Author’s surname and name should be indicated in the upper-right corner in boldface italic type; position/academic degree, academic title, if any; higher education institute, in which author works (or studies); paper’s title – in the centre in capital bold letters; bibliography should be given at the end of a paper in a line, font type 12 points.

4. Citations in text should be presented as follows [Швиденко 2000, 24], literature should be listed alphabetically according to the standards at the end of papers.

5. Post-graduate students, students and lecturers having no academic degrees should submit a review by their scientific supervisor, with timeliness and novelty of research stated.

Organizing Committee reserves the right for rejection of papers, should it happen, an author will be notified correspondingly.

All the expenses related to participation in the Conference (travel, accommodation, dinners) should be covered by participants.
