Purpose of the Visit

Visitor Benefits

Monash University will provide you with the following benefits in respect of the visit (delete any that are not appropriate or provided)

  1. Accommodation

Monash University will provide accommodation for the duration of your visit to the University.

During the period of your visit, the University will reimburse you a pre-approved amount of up to (insert maximum approved dollar amount) to cover reasonable accommodation expenses (in line with the terms of the University’s travel policies) upon presentation of complying taxation receipts.

  1. Travel Costs

The University will pay for your return economy airfare at the cheapest readily available rate at the time of booking, for travel by the most direct route, plus necessarily incurred ground transport and Governmental charges.

  1. Spouse Travel (delete if no accompanying spouse)

We note that your spouse will be accompanying you. All expenses related to your spouse’s travel and any other expenses incurred in relation to your spouse will be at your own cost.

  1. Incidental Expenses

During the period of your visit, the University will reimburse you an amount of up to (insert maximum approved dollar amount) to cover reasonable pre-approved incidental visit–related expenses which may include food/meals and/or visa or medical insurance upon presentation of complying taxation receipts.

Visa and Immigration Requirements(delete if not an internationalVisitor)

This invitation is conditional upon you obtaining any approval and visa required from the Australian Department of Immigration and Border Protection (DIBP) for your visit.

Unless otherwise advised, the current and appropriate visa for your visit is the Visitor Visa (Subclass 600). When completing your visa application please ensure that you apply for the Business Stream and not the Tourist Stream.

For visa application purposes this invitation letter confirms that you will not be employed by Monash University, and will not undertake any activities that would constitute productive work during your visit.

Please note that, as a Visitor to the University, you are not an employee, partner or agent to the University and Visitors are notentitled to salary or other employment related benefits.
