PURPOSE OF ROLE
Provide administrative support and cover to the department/service as required by the staff and the service/department manager.
TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Administration
/
  • Inputting and managing information into/on digital management systems.

  • Monitoring incoming communications including post and email.

  • Answering the telephone and directing calls as appropriate.

  • General filing, photocopying and printing.

  • Other administrative duties as appropriate.

  • Keeping noticeboards up to date with the latest information.

PERSON SPECIFICATION
Skills: /
  • IT literacy – You will be required to use a number of computer systems including the Microsoft Office package, and while specific experience is not required, a basic understanding of IT is essential.

  • Communication skills – It is likely that you will have to answer the telephone as part of this role, and so a good telephone manner is required. Additionally you may be required to respond to written communication.

  • Organisational skills – You may be asked to rearrange a filing system or sort through a number of records.

Qualities: /
  • Discrete – You will be working with confidential information, and discretion will be required.

  • Proactive – Able to work on your own initiative in order to identify administrative tasks that require your support.

  • Please note that a DBS check WILL NOT be required for this role.

  • Although you will not routinely be interacting with the service users as part of your role, Safeguarding Vulnerable Adults training will be provided in case you do have to on occasion.

  • Training will be offered on any specific software packages that the service/department requires you to use.

DURATION AND TIME COMMITMENT
