Information Required for Grants for Research Expenses2014-2015

This grant program is designed to assist undergraduate students with majors or minorsin the College of Liberal Arts & Human Sciences who are pursuing research projects or creative work. This grant may be used to purchase materials and/or fund travel required for your project. If you need funding for conference travel, please use the Travel Grant for Conferences & Performances.

- Student must have a major and/or minor in the College of Liberal Arts & Human Sciences, or be working with a faculty member in the College of Liberal Arts & Human Sciences. Preference will be given to projects housed in the CLAHS.

- Students must have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher to be eligible for funding

- The maximum grant award is $500

- This application must be accompanied by a Faculty Endorsement FormLetter of Recommendation. All materials must be received before the grant deadline.

Before submitting this application, make sure you have the following required information available and ready to input into the application. If you start and then stop your online application realizing you don’t have the necessary information, the system will make you start over.

1. Biographical & Academic Information (Name, Student ID#, e-mail, address, majors, minors, etc.) for individuals and all team members.

2. Faculty Advisor name, e-mail, department.

3. Project Information (project title, statement of research questions, description of methods used, discussion of outcomes or results, description of your presentation style, and a conclusion reiterating the importance of sharing your research/results at a presentation/conference.)

4. Proposed Budget for Materials, Equipment, & Supplies (be specific, and include links)

5. A broken out total of all costs, including: travel, accommodation, and additional costs. (Be prepared to stay in bounds of the controller’s office per diem rates for food and lodging at your conference/presentation location as well as in bounds of mileage reimbursement rates)

6. List of additional funding opportunities you have explored.
