Frank L. Bowser School

2016-2017 School Year

Information regarding the 1st Day of School

Welcome back to all returning Frank L. Bowser families and a very warm welcome to all families joining us for the first time. We are looking forward to an exciting 2016–2017 school year!

Tuesday, September 6th is the first day back to school! When you arrive, you will find class lists with student names and class assignments posted in the window next to the front entrance of the school, at the playground-side entrances, as well as on the bulletin boards next to the entrance to the gymnasium.

Kindergarten students have staggered entry dates. You should have received an email indicating which day is the start day for your child. If you need clarification, please contact Mrs. Saulnier at 856-3450.

We encourage parents to take advantage of our Kiss and Drop area at the front of the school. If you wish to accompany your child into the school on the first day, you may use the Masonic Hall parking lot or side streets for parking. Our fire lane must be kept clear, which means access to the lower driveway down to the front entrance of the school is only for students that require assistance entering the school. Our student’s safety is our main priority so we appreciate your help in keeping this area clear of vehicles.

Walking students should be reminded to use the crosswalks with assigned crossing guards. The crossing guards will be stationed in front of the school (playground entrance) on Cleveland Ave. and, at both the Pine Glen/Devere and the Pine Glen/Berkley intersections.

Also, there is a new STOP sign at the corner of Devere and Cleveland Ave. We trust that you will be patient with the traffic and drive with due care in the school zone. The excitement of the first day is distracting for students. We need your help in making sure that all students arrive safely.

Stay tuned for more information in the coming days with important dates to note. There will be important documents sent home with your child in the coming weeks needing to be signed and returned to the teacher. Also, there will be information coming from our Home and School Executive welcoming you to our FLB community and inviting you to get involved. There are numerous ways you can support Frank L. Bowser School. We appreciate any time that you may have to offer.

The Frank L. Bowser School Staff is looking forward to an enjoyable and productive school year. Our Meet the Teacher Night is scheduled for Wednesday, September 14th, at 6:00 pm (more details will follow). If you have any questions or concerns, don’t hesitate to ask.

It’s going to be a great year!

See you on Tuesday.

Mrs. Goobie and Mme Cormier
