INFORMATION FOR MEMBERS

The attached invoice and membership form is for January 2016 to December 2016.

Members of the Canberra Mathematical Association (CMA) are automatically members of the Australian Association of Mathematics Teachers (AAMT) and hence qualify for discounted prices on resources, journals and professional development.

CMA has chosen not to register for the GST.

Journals

One of the following journals is included in the membership fee*.

  • The Australian Primary Mathematics Classroom (APMC) is issued four times a year, published by AAMT. It is a journal written for anyone interested in primary mathematics education, but is primarily for classroom teachers; it considers current issues, encouraging reflection of practice, and promotes innovation as part of the evolving nature of mathematical pedagogy.
  • The Australian Mathematics Teacher (AMT) is published in four issues each year by AAMT. It is a journal to serve as a medium both for the exchange of ideas and experiences in the teaching of elementary mathematics and for the instruction of teachers in the trends and developments of mathematics education at home and abroad. Aimed at teachers of mathematics in Years 7–10.
  • The Australian Senior Mathematics Journal (ASMJ) focuses on the teaching of mathematics for Years 11, 12 and early tertiary years; there are two issues each year, published by AAMT.

Membership categories

  • Joint membership applies to two people living at the same address (two journals included).
  • Concessional membership is available to students and to unemployed or retired teachers.
  • An institution or corporation may become an Institutional member. An Institutional member may nominate two people to attend any professional development or other activities at members’ rates.

One journal is included in the Institutional rate.

  • *Student membership is available to all students– this membership enables online access to the AAMT’s Highest Common Factor newsletter only (no AAMT journals) and discount on AAMT resources and CMA activities.
