Dear Parents

We are fast approaching the end of another school year with the summer holidays only a few weeks away.

Information about end of term events is detailed in this final newsletter of the session.

Once again, I would like to thank parents, pupils and staff for their support throughout the year and for making Bent Primary the special place it is.

Regards

Carol Fleming

END of TERM/LEAVERS’ ASSEMBLY

This will be held for all pupils on Tuesday 21st June at 9:10am. (Please note the slightly earlier start time)

As in previous years, the focus of the morning will be on the fact that it is the End of the Term and that our Primary 7 pupils will now be moving on to secondary school.

At the End of Term Assembly, commemorative presents will be given to the P7 pupils and

in-house trophies will be awarded. Although space is limited in the hall any parent is welcome to attend.

PARENT COUNCIL

The final event of the Parent Council calendar is the ‘Family Fun Night’ on Thursday 16th June from 6:30pm -8pm. (more information to follow)

We are very grateful to the Parent Council for the activities they plan throughout the session and for their generous contributions to the school.

We value this support particularly in the current economic climate as it lets us provide the extras that enhance the learning experiences of all pupils.

STAFFING

Our staffing entitlement for next session has been decided. The school’s allocation will allow us to form 3 classes. With the number of pupils currently at each stage and all new intake figures confirmed, the configuration of classes for next session will probably be:

P1/2, P3/4 and P5/6/7.

Details regarding classes will be issued before the end of term and the children will be given the opportunity to spend some time in their new class and meet their new teacher before the end of term.

Please note the roll can change from week to week and although this is our projected class plan for next session, in certain circumstances, restructuring of the planned class configurations can also take place at the start of a new session in August.

SPORTS EVENTS/ COMPETITIONS

TRIATHLON

12 pupils from P6 and P7 took part in a Triathlon Event held at Carluke Leisure Centre. All children completed 3 activities – A 50 metre Swim around the water edge of the swimming pool, a 1200 metre bike ride and a 400 metre run on the running track in the John Cummings stadium. A huge well done to everyone who took part.
