The Embassy of Brazil in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, in order to fill a vacancy in its staff, announces the following position:

1. / Vacancy description
Title / Technical Assistant for Foreign Trade
Sector / Trade Sector (SECOM)
Work location / SECOM-Dubai (World Trade Center, 7
th floor, Dubai)
Monthly salary / AED 6,325.00
Tasks / ►Prepare research papers, reports on commercial matters, collect information regarding investments in Brazil, according to established guidelines;
►Attend commercial exhibitions, in particular those including Brazilian participants;
►Assist with Brazilian trade missions, official delegations and other events of interest to the Embassy;
►Answer telephone consultations on commercial matters in Arabic and in English (Portuguese a valued asset);
►Receive letters, e-mails, faxes in Arabic and in English (Portuguese a valued asset) and prepare standard replies in those same languages;
►Drafting of official documents;
►Type, data process, edit texts and images;
►Translate documents from Arabic into English and vice-versa (Portuguese a valued asset);
►File documents;
►Operate “BrazilTradeNet”, the Brazilian online data base of companies and export products;
►Other activities related to tourism, trade promotion services and investment activities in Brazil.
►Other Embassy-related activities as required.

Procedure / ►Presentation of applications and documents requested;
►The Embassy will assess the documentation submitted and pre-select those candidates considered most suitable for the job;
►The Embassy will invite pre-selected candidates for interviews and exams. The exams will be in English. The interviews and exams will take place most probably on the period of February 23rd, 2014, to February 28th, 2014;
►The most suitable candidate will be hired by the Embassy;
►PLEASE NOTE: only pre-selected candidates will be invited for interviews and exams.
Required qualifications / ►The candidate should be at least 18 years old, and have a valid Residence Visa and legal permission to work in the United Arab Emirates;
►Proficiency in English and Arabic. Preference will be given to candidates who also have proficiency in Portuguese;
►High school diploma;
►Proven professional experience and/or college degree in foreign trade or international economics;
►Full knowledge of Microsoft Office software and in using the Internet.

►Mental and physical fitness certificate, issued by a medical institution, dated not earlier than six months following this announcement;

►If the candidate is Brazilian, he/she should be up to date with the military and electoral obligations;
►If the candidate is Brazilian, he/she should submit a statement that he/she does not occupy a position, job or public function in Brazil;
►Police clearance certificate, dated not earlier than six months following this announcement;
