PURPOSE OF JOB

a) To manage a team providing residential and dispersed accommodation; and intensive support to families with complex needs, who have lost their accommodation, or are at risk of losing their accommodation as a result of anti social behaviour.

b) Tackle the root causes of anti social behaviour in the most challenging families by providing structured intensive support programmes to rehabilitate families to end anti social behaviour, keep their homes and understand their responsibilities as a tenant, settle into a community, live peacefully with their neighbours, nurture and control their children to a level acceptable to the City Council, the community and the their landlord.

C) To contribute to wide agendas including the Respect Agenda, Safeguarding children, Prevention of homelessness and repeat homelessness, Supporting People Strategy, Community Safety Strategy

Specific Duties & Responsibilities

  1. To work within the policies and procedures laid down by Sheffield City Council
  1. To manage all activities involved in the provision of the service, including housing management and managing a team to achieve a high standard of supervision and training and development.
  1. To develop constructive relationships with all agencies in the provision of services and responsibilities to families and communities involved in the project. Partner agencies include but are not restricted to Children and Young People’s Service, the Police, The Youth Offending Team and Sheffield Homes
  1. To be responsible for the Supporting People contract and manage resources effectively
  1. To monitor performance in the delivery of the service, ensuring consistent standards are in place to support continuous improvement in the service.
  1. To take responsibility for ensuring cover is provided 24 hours a day 7 days a week, by staff and contract agencies.
  1. To manage internal and external communications appropriately, maintaining the confidential nature of the service and having regard to the sensitivity around the provision of such a service.
  1. To provide verbal and written reports and any statistical and monitoring information when required to a range of fora
  1. To implement quality assurance systems
  1. To ensure the implementation of all Council policies and responsibilities towards staff and service users, in particular the adherence to Health and Safety and Adult and Child Protection polices and protocols.
  1. To acquire and develop skills in the use of Information Technology relevant to the role and to use these skills in carrying out duties.
  1. To be on call for out of hours emergencies as and when necessary
  1. To undertake any other related duties and responsibilities as may arise.
  1. All duties and responsibilities should be carried out in accordance with agreed Council Policy and Procedures, in particular the Council policies on Equal Opportunities and Health and Safety.

  1. Good understanding of child development and how to meet the emotional needs of children and young people.
