Participant Rules
  • All competitors must be sworn, full-time or retired law enforcement/Correction officers in the state of Kentucky.
  • All DOCJT Range Safety Rules will be followed by all competitors during the competition.
  • DOCJT Firearms staff reserves the right to disallow any weapon or item of leather gear for this competition. Weapons, holster, belt and belt gear must be those normally carried on duty.
  • Handgun barrels longer than 5.32 inches will not be allowed. Accepted modifications: actions must conform to factory specifications; sights must be those normally installed by the manufacturer—after market sights will be allowed only if they are duty sights; Sight blackening will not be allowed; the barrel must be the barrel normally installed by the manufacturer--ported or compensated barrels will not be allowed.
  • All weapons and duty gear will be inspected by the DOCJT Firearms staff at check-in. The DOCJT Firearmsstaff reserves the right todisallow any weapon or item of leather gear for this competition.
  • All shooters must register as an individual competitor to be eligible to compete as a team member.
  • A tie-breaking course will beannounced if necessary. No more than 20 rounds will be fired for the tie-breaker.
  • NO alcoholic beverages will be permitted.

All decisions made by the DOCJT Firearms staff will be final.

Competitions

Individual—After an individual completes the course of fire, that score will be used in both their Individual and Team scores (if applicable). No re-shoots will be allowed.

Team—The team score will be based on the combined times plus penalties of the two team members. There is no limit on the number of teams an agency may enter. The winning team will receive an award for each officer. In addition, a Championship Cup will be awarded to the winning team for display at their agency for 1 year. Second and third place teams will receive an award for each officer.

Retired—Retired Class will be Honorably, Retired Sworn Officers from a Law Enforcement Agency in the State of Kentucky.

Additional information:

* Bring your own eye and ear protection.

* Brimmed hat must be worn while on firing line.

* All competitors must have a quality holster that

securely holds the handgun during movement.

* All competitors must bring at least one magazine pouch

designed for their particular magazines.

* If a department or competitor has access to a patrol rifle

youare encouraged to bring it for the rifle portion of

the competition. If not, rifles will be available for

your use.

* Patrol rifles may not be equipped with any optics.

Competitors must use iron sights for the competition.

* All competitors must bring 100 rounds of ammunition

Fortheir handgun.

* All competitors must bring 40 rifle rounds. Only

5.56 or .223Rem patrol rounds will be allowed.

No steel core or armorpiercing rounds will be

allowed.

* All firearms used in the competition are subject to

a safety inspection.

You will be shooting reactive steel targets with the handgun and rifle in multiple stages. Scores will be based on the time the course is fired with penalties for missed targets.
