Indian Health Service Dental Specialties Reference Guide

Acknowledgements

Completion of the Indian health Service (IHS) Dental Specialties Reference Guide was the combined effort of many IHS specialists who revised and added to the materials contained in the previous edition of the manual. Each of these specialists built on the work that began with the first edition of the manual, published in 1979, and then revised and edited in 1995.

The original edition, entitled Clinical Specialties in Dentistry, was written by the following authors:

The first revision of the Clinical Specialties Manual was completed in 1995. This edition was edited by William Neindorff, D.D.S., M.P.H (under contract with the IHS), and Scott Bingham, D.M.D., M.P.H. served as the project coordinator. This edition eliminated the chapter on Hospital Dentistry, split the Prosthodontics chapter into Fixed and Removable chapters, and added a chapter on General Dentistry.
