Trainee : Ruminant Nutritionist/Crop Science Technical Sales Specialist.
We are looking for two enthusiastic people who want to embark on a career in agriculture. The successful candidates will need good communication and computer skills; an ability to work as part of a team along with drive and determination to achieve individual goals. Internal and external training will be provided over a two year period . Successful candidates will be enrolled and attend part time at Harper Adams to study for the following Diploma.
DipRN Diploma in Ruminant Nutrition.
The course covers sheep, beef and dairy but has much more of a dairy focus because of the relative importance to the feed industry. It also offers a formal qualification, which apart from the technical information is of value to those in the feed industry. It is delivered over a 2 year period and there are four modules which cover aspects of the principles of nutrition; ration formulation and recent advances in ruminant nutrition. Each of the taught modules has 5 days contact time and is a mixture of tutorials and practicals (e.g. rumen dissection, lab analysis, grass cover measurements, condition scoring, hand rationing, computer rationing).
A full driving licence is required and a company vehicle will be provided. Remuneration will depend on experience with the basic salary set above minimum wage. During the two year training program incentives will be offered to boost income to a targeted minimum of £16,000 to £20,000.
