Description: Students interested in the IGERT training program should first apply to one of the participating departmental Ph.D. programs and then submit this form to the IGERT Program Coordinator. Students are strongly encouraged to contact one or more of the participating faculty members before applying. For full program details and a faculty listing, see the attached program description.
Funding:Incoming IGERT Fellows in good standing are guaranteed funding for the course of their Ph.D. study. The first two years of study are funded by the IGERT grant (which includes a stipend of $30,000 and full tuition coverage), and subsequent years are funded either by faculty research grants or other fellowships. IGERT Fellows are encouraged to seek external fellowship opportunities, such as the National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowships, the National Defense Science and Engineering Graduate Fellowships (NDSEG), or the U.S. Department of Energy Office of Science Graduate Fellowships.
