KUALA LUMPUR CONVENTION CENTRE

KUALA LUMPUR, MALAYSIA

CONFERENCE THEME:

CREATING SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT OF HUMAN CAPITAL AND KNOWLEDGE IN ISLAMIC FINANCE THROUGH EDUCATION.

INTRODUCTION

The Central Bank of Malaysia has taken a bold step in developing human capital in Islamic finance to meet the growing needs of the global Islamic banking and finance industry through the establishment of the International Centre for Education in Islamic Finance (INCEIF). The main objective of INCEIF is to promote educational excellence in Islamic finance for the domestic and international finance community. INCEIF is envisaged to achieve this objective by building and strengthening the pool of talented researchers and educators in Islamic finance and facilitating the coordination, planning and implementation of human capital initiatives for the Islamic finance industry.

While Islamic finance is growing steadily there is a pressing need to develop the human capital and knowledge base in Islamic banking and finance. As part of its initiatives and commitment towards this aspiration, INCEIF will be holding its first Islamic Banking and Finance Educational Colloquium from the 3rd to the 5th of April 2006. The colloquium provides a forum for professionals, scholars, academicians and other concerned or interested entities to present new research and discusses current issues that are vital to human resource development in the Islamic banking and finance industry as well as other related topics.

OBJECTIVES
