SIG has a job opening for a Payroll Administrator to join our Accounting team in our Bala Cynwyd headquarters, just minutes from Center City Philadelphia. By joining our team in this role, you will process our multi-state semi-monthly payroll for approximately 1,200 domestic employees. We will look to you to leverage your understanding of what is required from a business perspective to ensure we remain compliant with all Federal, State and Local tax laws. You will also work directly with a multitude of teams including HRIS/Corporate Applications, Benefits, HR, Compensation and Accounting. Through this interaction, you will have the opportunity to bring your ideas to the table as this collective team is continuously looking at process improvement and automation opportunities.

Our Payroll team is a two-person department in which you will have the unique opportunity to collaborate and leverage your existing knowledge and build upon it as you gain exposure to projects and/or ideas that will enhance the department. You will actively collaborate with the Lead Payroll Administrator in projects that could include setting up new international locations and evaluation of new vendors to meet our international payroll needs. In this role, you will:

  • Collaborate with the Lead Payroll Administrator to support a multi-state semi-monthly payroll that services 1,200 domestic employees
  • Process payroll for all US based employees and ensure that all taxes are withheld appropriately and accurate payment made to all employees
  • Ensure all Federal, State and Local tax regulations are being met by keeping up with all current tax laws
  • Partner with the Lead Payroll Administrator in researching all tax implications of new earnings/deduction codes and set up in the UltiPro payroll system
  • Collaborate with Corporate Applications and Benefits teams to support file generation, file transfer and related troubleshooting for 401(k), FSA and other benefits plans; actively work with third party vendors to support any file related issues and ensure proper disbursement of funds takes place
  • Support payroll related reporting needs – both regular and ad-hoc
  • Actively participate in year-end processes and collaborate with the broader year-end team to ensure all needs are met
  • Process off-cycle payrolls/adjustments as well as W2’s and W2C’s
  • Provide superior customer service to employees and respond to their inquiries and requests as promptly as possible

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of five years of multi-state payroll tax experience required
  • Prior experience supporting year-end processes, process improvements and process automation required
  • Must demonstrate an advanced knowledge of Excel; previous experience with VBA, Access and SQL a plus
  • Previous experience with UltiPro a plus
  • Experience with tools used for reporting such as Cognos or Crystal Reports a plus
  • Certified Payroll Professional Certification or Fundamental Payroll Certification a plus
