In memoriam: Passing of Karl Hehl

Senior partner at Arburg dies/ Excellent achievement in injection moulding technology.

Lossburg.On the evening of 24 November 2010, Karl Hehl, senior partner at Arburg GmbH + Co KG, died unexpectedly at the age of 87.Until recently he played an active role as an advisory partner, making a significant contribution to the family-run company.He used his ingenuity and foresight to make Arburg a well-known manufacturer of injection moulding technology and guided the company to become a world leader.

Karl Hehl served for many years as chairman of the management team and played a decisive role in Arburg’s success story.His influence as a technical specialist was decisive in shaping the family-run business for more than six decades.He was always one step ahead of the times with his ideas and technical solutions.

In the family-run company, in his locality and far beyond, Karl Hehl was well-regarded, both on a human level and for his technical expertise.He was awarded the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany for his services.In 2007, the American Society of Plastics Engineers (SPE) awarded Karl and his brother Eugen Hehl the Business Management Award for their lifetime achievement.

In Karl Hehl Arburg and the entire industry has lost an extraordinary character, business man and pioneer.The partners, management and staff will always hold his memory in great esteem and will continue to work according to his principles.
