Travel Bursaries

20thAnnual Conference of NHIVNA

In collaboration with ViiV Healthcare UK

ViiV Healthcare UK in collaboration with the National HIV Nurses Association (NHIVNA) have made provision for 30travel bursary awards to assist healthcare professionals to attend the 20th Annual Conference of NHIVNA, taking place at the Holiday Inn, Brighton from 27-29 June 2018.

30 successful applicants will be awarded with a contribution of up to £250 towards their registration, travel and accommodation for the conference. Applicants are informed that accommodation costs will be covered for hotels which are rated 4 stars and below. Travel costs for economy/standard and public transport (where feasible) rather than taxis will be covered. Registration fees will be charged at the standard discounted early rates.

  • A contribution of £125 off their registration fee
  • A contribution of £75 towards accommodation (with submission of original receipts)
  • A contribution of £50 towards travel (with submission of original receipts)

Places will be allocated on an assessment of merit based on the following:

  • Speciality achievements to date
  • Submission of an abstract
  • Educational objectives
  • A plan for utilising the knowledge gained (e.g. local update, review article)

Applications are invited from NHIVNA member healthcare professionals who are actively working in the field of HIV and sexual health. Please refer to the bursary application form below. Applicants are required to complete this form and return it to the conference organisers before Friday 20 April 2018. Applications will be judged by a panel composed of members of the NHIVNA Events Subcommittee.

  • There will be a maximum of 30bursary awards available.
  • Applicants must be members of NHIVNA for 2018,those who are not, are required to complete and return a Membership Formincluding payment details when submitting their application.
  • Applicants need to complete and return this Application Form via email to . Thisprocess replaces the standard Registration Form. Therefore, applicants are not required to register onlineor using the form found on the NHIVNA website.
  • All sections of the Application Form must be completed (please indicate ‘not applicable’ where appropriate).
  • Applications and supporting documentation must be received by 1700(GMT) on Friday 20 April2018. If successful, an acknowledgment of the bursary will be made during the week commencing 23 April 2018.
  • Following acknowledgement of yourbursary you will have up to 5 days to cancel/withdraw your application. Successful applicants will be required to pay the full applicable registration fee post conference, if they fail to attend the conference.

This educational activity is supported by an educational grant from ViiV Healthcare. ViiV have no involvement in the selection of the recipients of the bursary.
