Emergency
In case of emergency for accident call 911 for injury accident, then call dispatcher for further instructions. Non injury accident call dispatch for further instructions.
In case of mechanical emergency for tractor call Penske 1-800-526-0798 for after hours or 614-497-6920.
In case of mechanical emergency for trailer call Bowman Trailers 614-527-4302 & if after hours it will automatically transfer you to after hour service.
Never leave a loaded trailer unattended during mechanical breakdown & always call dispatch to report status. Dispatch will determine if necessary to send another truck to recover & deliver loaded trailer.
Fueling the trucks
Please keep trucks clean and smoke free. Do not drive the trucks on less than ¼ of tank if possible. Fuel trucks with fuel card & 4 digit pin, keep receipts & write truck number on them. If no receipt prints from fuel pump, write down the amount in gallons, date, city purchased, & name of fuel station on daily run sheet.

Daily Driver Sheets/Log Books/Inspection Books
All drivers are required to fill out daily run sheets with all info including truck number, mileage, date, & name. All drivers are also required to fill out run a driver’s time record (short haul within 100 miles) along with daily inspection log of all trailers moved in a given day.
Random trailer/container inspections
All transportation dispatcher/supervisors are required to perform random monthly conveyance inspections after initial driver inspections, which includes empty and loaded trailers/containers. All random inspections are to be documented & kept for proof.FARO ServicesMain Distribution Warehouse

Trucker Driver

PURPOSE
The purpose of this document is to provide a description of the duties to be performed by the Truck Drivers at FARO Services on Alum Creek Dr in Columbus, Ohio.
SCOPE
This document is to be followed by ALL Truck Driver personnel within this facility. The duties outlined in this document will be part of the yearly performance review.
RESPONSIBILITY
It shall be the responsibility of the Operations Manager to assure that this document is current.
Job Description – Truck Drivers
· Candidate shall adhere to all rules and regulations of FARO Services according to the employee’s handbook.
· Candidate shall agree to work flexible hours.
· Truck Drivers will report to work 10 minutes prior to their shift starting. This time is used for doing daily inspection of truck & re-cap of events from previous shift driver.
· Employees are expected to clean and dress according to the season.
· All drivers must carry their company id, driver’s license, & DOT physical card on them at all times when on duty.
· All drivers will fill out a daily run sheet, which list all moves for given day.
· Drivers will maintain daily log & daily inspections on equipment as regulated by DOT.
· Drivers will be in drug/alcohol random pool as long as they are active drivers.
· Drivers will be dispatch by shift supervisor.
· Drivers will follow all laws while operating FARO equipment, including wearing safety belts.
· Drivers are required to attend monthly meetings on safety, maintenance, & security.
· All drivers required to have cell phone/mobile device on them at all times on duty.
· All logs with daily inspections must be turned into Compliance Manager weekly.
· Count all cargo if picking up and signing for piece count at pick-up locations.
· Inspect all containers/trailers for damage prior to signing for them at pick-up location.
· Supervisor must be present if applying out-going seal on trailer.
· Do not break any seals at any offsite location.
· Do not break any seals at this facility without Supervisor present to witness.
· Plug your truck with electrical cords (provided) at end of your shift if temperature is below freezing. Roll your extension cords up when unplugging and place cord in truck neatly.
· Keep trucks clean, neat, and orderly. If anything out of order with truck notify shift Supervisor for further instructions.
· Maintain a copy of fuel receipts when fueling with company card & attach to daily run sheet.
· Do not stop for food, fuel, etc… while in transit with local delivery.
· Maintain eye contact with truck & trailer at all times while on over the road deliveries.
· All paperwork will be turned in to the Supervisor in a neatly written manner on clean paper at end of shift.
· All damages to the truck due to misuse or abuse will be driver’s responsibility financially at management’s discretion.
· Duties not listed but added by way of e-mail or written procedures may be added at the discretion of the Operations Manager.
· All written procedures are to be followed as written.

Terminating Containers
Always know the steamshipline of the empty container you returning to the rail. Always make sure container is clean (swept out) & no placards/damages on it. It is always wise to call the facility before trying to drop empty there to confirm they are taking your size empty today, because it varies day to day. Here is list of steamship lines with corresponding termination locations.

Picking up Containers from the Rail
Always thoroughly inspect containers for damages before checking out and get necessary repairs completed. Zip-tie all the pins for locking container to chassis before leaving the rail. Also check to make sure the Federal inspection of the chassis you are taking out has a current date, if not inform rail attendant to advise whether to change chassis’ or get it updated.

Please report any/all minor damage you do to the trucks. Again keep the interior clean & smoke free. Any minor repairs please take truck to Penske on Alum Creek for repairs. Any repairs Penske refers to as normal wear & tear are okay, but in repairs referred to as abuse or negligent will result in a write up in your employee file. Multiple write ups within a six month period will result in you paying for damages or ultimately your job.

Conveyance Storage
Trailers/Containers not being actively loaded or unloaded must be stored in a secure area to prevent unauthorized access and/or manipulation. And must be individually secured to neutralize unauthorized entry.
v Keep all loaded trailers/container stored inside the fenced in area
v All loaded trailers/containers must be sealed with tamper proof seal
v All empty trailer/containers must be sealed with tamper proof seal or parked with the doors back to a wall or another trailer container not to allow access to inside of conveyance for tampering/manipulation
Seal control while in transit
Make sure to check your seal number & seal condition upon pick up & make sure it is typed on your BOL. Always pull on your seal to check if it is properly applied. Do not stop anywhere besides authorized fuel locations while in transit. And make sure seal is intact before & after stops in transit. If seal has been tampered/broken while in transit, contact your local dispatcher immediately, take photos, and notes. Your dispatcher will determine if the local police are needed.
