Registering Your Students for CMEA Events on CTFest.net

Hello Colleagues,

We are very pleased that CMEA has an automated system in place to register students, schedule auditions, post results, and assist in communications as we prepare our students for music festivals. This program was designed by Dorian Business Systems (creators of Charms Office Assistant) and is custom built to CT’s Audition and Festival procedures.

To help you become acquainted with the new software, please use the following procedures:

1)Go to CTFest.net

2)First time users will need to “REGISTER”

  1. You will need to register for each festival you participate in. If you teach both middle and high school, you will need to create two different usernames.
  2. Please note, Teachers and Judges will register in 2 separate locations, so if you are a teacher who also judges at festivals, you’ll be registering twice.
  3. If you are registering as a Judge, please click on the red “Judges” Button

on the top right of the page to enter your information.

3)Once you are Logged In, confirm that the light blue banner has the correct school and region listed.

  • School Association Fees and teachers’ MENC Membership must be paid in order to register students.*

4)You’ll be able to enter your students’ information and preferences from here.

  1. Please note, additional information is now required for student entry. Please feel free to print and use the attached worksheet to collect student information prior to logging into the database. You will be able to modify student information later, but for your convenience, this sheet will help you collect everything at once.
  2. Teachers can enter their own email if preferred, but students will not receive messages directly.
  3. Students with multiple auditions will be re-registered for each audition they are taking.

5)That’s it! (Wasn’t that simple?)

While you’re in the site, please note that at the top of the page there is a button for documents related to the festival which will help with organization. Also note that there are buttons for Festival Chairs to log in to print ensemble rosters, post information, and any other needed tasks to ensure that our festivals run smoothly. ***Please note: Selection Committees make every attempt to use the “Ensemble Preference” of a student, but we cannot guarantee placement for any student especially those with multiple auditions.
