COMPLETING A BLOG POST
GETTING STARTED
- Open a NEW Word Document
- Save the file as Chapter1_FilmBuffBlog.docx
- If you do not see the .docx file extension in the Save As dialog box, do not type it. The program will add the file extension for you automatically.
- With the file IL_WD16_1a_FirstLastName_2.docx still open, ensure that your first and last name is displayed in the footer.
PROJECT STEPS
- Type the document then apply the following formatting.
- You contribute to a blog for film enthusiasts, which is ranking the 100 greatest films of all time. You are writing a blog post about the filmCasablanca. Begin by formatting the blog title “Film Buff Blog” in bold.
- In the first line, increase the font size of the text“Film Buff Blog” three times. (Hint: The size of the text should be 16pt. when you are finished.)
- In the fourth line, decrease the font size of the text “Rank: #10” three times. (Hint: The size of the text should be 11pt. when you are finished.)
- Center the first four Lines beginning “Film Buff Blog” and ending “Rank: #10” so that the Linesstand out from the body of the blog post.
- In the first body paragraph, bold the text “Plot summary” to call attention to the text. (Hint: Select only the words “Plot summary” and not the colon following the words.)
- Add a Bottom Border to the fourth body paragraph (“Without telling Ilsa,…in the movie.”) to separate the plot summary from the rest of the blog post.
- Add anOutside Border to the first body paragraph beginning with Plot Summary and ending with nobody.”
- Add a 1 ½ pt. Text Border to the Title Film Buff Blog at the beginning of the entire document. (try to match the one shown in the example).
- Add the following font changes as indicated.
- World Word II – Italics (paragraph 1)
- Round up the usual suspects – Underline (paragraph 4)
- Trivia and Bloopers - Shadow Outer Offset Left (bottom of the document)
Your document should look like the Final Figure on the following page. Save your changes, close the document, then exit Word.
